Yeah, but that announcement, if applicable, can be dropped at the end of this current dev. I think with huge games like Conan Exiles, juggling getting out quarterly updates of content (few other games offer releases and dev consistently, usually sticking to less frequent updatea).
This way FC can involve many players in the adapting storyline as well as getting in a core game change.
I have restarted my own bases many times, restarted my character from max back to dtart many times as well. I have had my bases blasted back to stone age by players and by purges and surges and deities. Sometimes mods have been removed because they fail/stop being supported and bases fall down. Its a thing. The thing is, there are a ton of games out there that are not overhauled/updated frequently and so on. They are fun, but their respective Discords, etc are often filled with demands for updates and new stuff.
Sometimes it’s just a devil you do and a devil you don’t kind of situation.
Me? I’ll take the occasional cycle of glitched updates and the like because I like the game overall. When I stop doing that I will vote with my feet and move on to another game - although I have yet to find any game out there that covers all the things I like about Conan Exiles. Simple as that.
