Think of this like a hypothetical suggestion thread. Not actually asking Funcom to implement anything, just keeping it open. I’ll start off.
Firstly, I wouldn’t have locked characters to servers. I think from the start it wouldn’t have made server “mergers” even necessary. People would just play where they wanted, with whom they wanted and how they wanted.
Secondly I would have put a larger effort into the solo play activities. Even just reworking current dungeons and raids. For example, a solo Reliquary of Flame would have a guaranteed drop of up to 24s coins, a 1/64 chance of up to 100 shards, and 1/256 chance of a class-relevant piece from the dungeon. Greater odds for harder dungeons. And no cooldown
Raids could be worse odds, and with no cooldown.
Let’s say your raid drop chance for a single piece is 1/256 for minor pieces and accessories, 1/512 for majors and weapons. (For those getting upset that would be avg. 4864 kills before getting a complete set)
I think this option would have kept new players from getting burnt out, and kept current players from leaving once life gets in the way of raid time.
Lastly, I would have made the games lighting more cohesive overall, if we compare Tortage island to House of Crom to Dragon’s spine there’s a clear progression of how the engine was utilized to bring Hyboria to life. So that’s what I would have done, can’t wait to get lit up for bringing up solo content again.
Thanks Hyboria, and Slay on.

I would have added housing. All those amazing villages, towns and cities with doors all over. Even if they would have just been 1 or 2 rooms I’d have made each of those doors an entrance to a rented house/apartment instance. People like downside stuff to do once in a while.
Not give the crafting rework to Conan Exiles.
awesome thread!
I really like your points, they are very solid, very good arguments, and somthing that is easy to apply, should it ever be considered - The fact that the game is way smaller these days than in the glory days infact makes these changes u r suggesting very good -
I find it very annoying as one of the more new players of this game, to actually not having the possibilty to swap from server to server with my main character - I really enjoy pvp
so having servers to be swappable easily - would make me roam the pvp server so often whenever there was no raids, or other relevant content on the pve server.
So that idea i like hell-a-lot
I find it greatly to see that the idea of loot being easier to obtain thru solo content would be in its place -
lets be honest it is fun to raid and ppl are so kind in terms of helping new comers, like myself with getting into that stuff - but pvp Ive always seen as a great way to play the game solo against others and a great way to get geared up to have some fun, especially the days where no one is raiding.
my own thoughts and ideas are heavily shared on this forum
one of my more unique and really maybe an unpopular opinion is the combat, would need an overhaul - to look more like New World or Conan Exiles - the game already features so many modern mechanics, like sprinting and smooth movement - so I think if they could bake alittle they would come up with somthing great - that I am sure of.
Mostly I think also that QoL regarding the UI & systems needs a tone up
and i hear and witness alot of ppl talking about the questing is great and fun! but after Tortage it gets flat - so a questing overhaul to mirror somthing that is not so expensive to maintain and progress could be in its order- even tho questing with dialogue and voice overs are amazing and fun, it seems to take ppl off the game in the zones after Tortage.
again all this on top of your points and we are on great ways
