I'm bored due to caravans making it too easy

That’s only something that would work the way you envisioned on servers. Single player, whenever you leave an area it unloads, putting you back at square one; it would mean farming 35 (or whatever it is) sorcerers every time you wanted to buy anything from the merchants. Hard pass on that.

Does it? If so, isn’t it something they could change just for that event? Like, a backup from how it was left the last time you walked nearby until you log off. You know, just like how the animals are frozen in combat when the player leaves the area, then resume the fight in the same position they were left at? The idea is that, the pile of skulls would not decay unless it is completed, be it with 1 solo player participating, or a server with many players. They manage the decay and respawn of things, I’m sure they could manage the decay and respawn of a pile of skulls

But yes, the idea is to be able to “farm” the resources in an other way than the traditional one. The post is about how easy it is now to get advanced resources, and it is. Unlike some, I do want to keep the caravans, I like them. But for the balance? Now and then, it isn’t so bad to be a barbarian to get those resources rather than a farmer.

Load up a SP game, dump in a bunch of skulls and go a fair distance away, come back and the skulls will be gone. There’s not much that actually persists outside the player’s immediate area in single player.

They certainly disrupted the grind cycle.

As a temporary measure, this one approves.
It lets one get ahead by being a murderous brute rather than having to play miner or farmer.

If it were going to be a permanent feature, this one would suggest numerous tweaks to the system… But given it’s temporary nature (or dramatic reduction after the age) this one shrugs.

How long does an age last please? About a year?

Hypothetically less than a year.
When they explained the new Age and Chapter system, it was noted not all Ages will have the same number of Chapters (Seasons) but 3 would sorta be expected.
So far each Chapter has lasted 13 weeks.
Keep in mind the Headhunting didn’t begin until Chapter 2.
So this one estimates the prime glut will last a total of 26 weeks (about half a year) all said and done. That last bit is conjecture on this one’s part, but not unfounded. The current Chapter was confirmed as the final in the Age of Sorcery

These are the reasons my map doesnt have caravans tbh… between that, the rain and the darkness, it puts a cap on the number of people who will ever use it, but it was important to me to have a map that preserves some aspect of the rough side of the game.

In the current state of Conan Exiles, it is evident that Funcom has made the game much easier. The caravans are just one example, but essentially, all the challenging aspects of the game have been removed. Personally, I hope it stays this way.

What initially hooked me on Conan Exiles was its challenge. However, that all changed when Funcom wiped the server I was playing on, and I lost months of progress. It was disheartening to have to start from scratch again. Taming a “Purge” blacksmith was almost impossible for solo players. Nowadays, all I need is a T3 blacksmith, and I no longer have to worry about steel. It was so tedious to have to kill Jhil birds for the chance of getting a Black Blood tool. Playing is now enjoyable. In just 3-4 weeks of playing a few hours a day (not even everyday), it’s possible to be stable on a server, with good resources, and able to enjoy the game without suffering. It’s still challenging for those who like to engage in repetitive actions to get more exclusive items like Khari and Armor Scraps. Overall, I prefer the game’s current experience.

You all do realize that the server you play on drastically affects the difficulty of the game right? Through server settings alone gives the admin great control over different aspects of the game. So don’t be surprised if the game is ‘too easy’ when you play on a easymode server. Public FC servers are easy mode servers. They’re meant to be training wheels. Some of you even claim for these to be a ‘first timers experience’.

Try a server (or singleplayer if you cannot find one just to try it out) with 0.1x exp rates, 1.0x harvest rates, 1.2x damage taken rates, and events turned off. You’ll see a much more difficult game.

This community is so weird. You’re given choices, but you don’t use them and then blame the devs for it. I’m sorry but they can’t just take the choices away and just make everyone play by your ideals. They’re not mind readers and not everyone wants to play the game in the same way as you do. Like I’m certain most of you wouldn’t last a few hours at my preferred settings, your egos are too easily bruised.

I don’t know about my ego, but I agree I wouldn’t last a few hours at your preferred settings, because:

The caravans, the x4 and no nighttime all make it too easy. I think x2 was perfect for PvP, 3 would be okay but 4… I personally don’t use the caravans much. I don’t mind that they are now a way to get materials like steelfire and alchemical base. Do think the thralls could be more expensive and the black blood tools shouldn’t be in there at all…

Given that we’ve heard nothing about a new “age”, and apparently all hands are on deck for the Dune game, I’ll be surprised if we see anything change at all in the near-to-medium term aside from new stuff on the bazaar.

I could get a lot of alchemical base before the caravans, but it is still easier now.

I like the thralls, but it’s just taking advantage of the moment (chapter, age). I’m used to getting raided and sometimes starting over, but now there is a path of less resistance to play and get rewarded.

The New Age would drop in June.
This one will wait a week or so before nay saying.

Funcom plays things notoriously close to the chest.
Something this one has complained about before.
However, it would be disingenuous for this one to note a trait only when it is a source of consternation. In this case, it would be on brand of we hear little until a week or two before.

That having been said, if anyone official has anything, it wouldn’t be a bad time to sound the whistle on the hype train…
Oh look, a 5th anniversary Livestream, the perfect time for a reveal.

Ain’t nobody got time for that~

Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

If Caravans got removed, but as long as they kept skull hand in at Mel’s. Or placed 2-3 Caravans at set spots.

I’d be fine. I don’t capture sorcs all that often inless I Happen to be near a caravan and have path cleared.

I find Blood stone kinda boring… I rarely find them, I know of a few spots to pass over and catch one. Seem’d really rare…
