I'm sad. See you soon

Well, I tried, but my old graphics card doesn’t fully support DirectX 12, so I won’t be able to play again until I get a new computer. It’s a shame. Before the update, I was still holding out some hope that it might work, at least on the lowest settings, but it didn’t.
I’ll have to put it aside for a while, but I don’t hold a grudge against the UE5 update because it might be what saves the future of Conan Exiles, which is what matters. The upgrade to UE5 is a good thing for CE and for all of you, the incredible community that’s been here the whole time, through the toughest moments and the darkest days of this amazing game that never deserves, and never deserved, to die.

Yesterday, through the Nvidia app, I was at least able to log in to my official PVE server; everything was in order. I just wanted to see my base one last time, now in UE5. It was wonderful, it looked so beautiful, especially as the sun set and it gradually lit up with the glow of the torches.

I’ll keep an eye out for any changes or updates, and I’ll continue reading many of you who have earned my admiration and respect. I won’t mention any names out of respect for everyone else.

Funcom, don’t kill Conan Exiles, don’t let this major upgrade be the only thing you do and nothing else. Make sure that when I buy a new computer, Conan Exiles is the first game I reinstall. Bring back who have left. You’ll have me. It’s in your hands.

Perse, I’m sorry, sweetheart, I gotta go. I’m leaving you sleeping peacefully, at home, on the northern grass under the starlight. Don’t be afraid, you’re not alone, Lianelle and Dalinsia are by your side. They’ll protect you as always. In a few days you’ll float alongside them and then you’ll disappear, you’ll have to return to Hades, but this time not for six months, it will be longer. Don’t cry, I’m not abandoning you, its not a farewell. Soon we’ll ride again through the exile lands. I promise you.

Have you heard of Cloud Gaming..? (with a little help from ChatGPT):

Cloud gaming services like Boosteroid are basically a new way to play video games without needing a powerful PC or console. Instead of running the game on your own device, everything happens remotely on powerful servers—and your screen just shows a video stream of the game.

Here’s a clear breakdown :backhand_index_pointing_down:

:video_game: What cloud gaming actually is

Think of it like Netflix—but for games.

  • The game runs on a remote computer in a data center

  • That server sends you a live video stream of the gameplay

  • When you press buttons, your inputs are sent back instantly

So your laptop, phone, or TV is basically just a screen + controller, not the “brain” doing the work.

:gear: How Boosteroid works (specifically)

With Boosteroid:

  • You log in via browser or app

  • You connect accounts like Steam or Epic Games

  • You pick a game you already own

  • The game runs on Boosteroid’s servers and streams to you

This is called a “bring your own game” model—you’re not buying games from them, just renting the hardware.

They have:

  • Large data centers with powerful GPUs

  • Support for phones, PCs, smart TVs, etc.

  • Thousands of games available to stream

:brain: Why people use cloud gaming

1. No expensive hardware

You can play high-end games on:

  • Old laptops

  • Cheap PCs

  • Phones or tablets

Because the heavy work is done remotely.

2. No downloads or updates

Games are already installed on the server:

  • No waiting

  • No storage issues

  • Instant play

3. Play anywhere

As long as you have internet:

  • Home

  • School

  • Traveling

4. Subscription instead of buying a gaming PC

Instead of spending £1000+ on hardware, you pay a monthly fee.
