I have a powerful PC and fast internet. Steam downloads the updates quickly, says 100% downloaded, but then it will not install. The install part started 12 hours ago and saying at the moment it will take another 27 days!!!
I viewed some other threads and apologies if this has been discussed before, but can I get a clear step by step guide to fix this

Please make sure the drive you’re installing the game on has enough space, no malfunctioning sectors and it’s fast or not being actively used by other drive intensive apps simultaneously. This could cause the really slow install process you’re experiencing.

Hey it is a bug that happens on steam how ever it does not say it but there can be a extra download process for the game but it can be stupid and take hours after it hits 100%but it is a steam issue sometimes clear chache works but best bet just leave it running an it will update
If it’s not an issue with the Steam cache locally, it’s most likely an issue with Steam servers. This year has been overwhelming for Steam my a large margin. Their hardware hasn’t been keeping up with demand since Christmas. The new pandemic pushing people home, and having millions of more players active than ever before makes it even worse.
They can only push so much data out of their servers at once. Load balancing will slow downloads as a result.
Tire but I’ve had the problem since I got it many years ago so that can make it worse but it is a steam issue
