IMPROVE the way you handle EMERGENCY server restarts PUH-LEAZE!

I just lost a REALLY good pet that took me tons of resources to get phenomenal perks and stats. This baby could literally 2-3 shot most end game npcs. It died because of being stuck in the Wine Cellar dungeon, ie not teleporting out with me when I exited the dungeon. All these years later and even after the UE5 update, WHY are you still struggling to improve the pathing of pets? I don’t even notice pathing issues with my thralls. But for some reason when it comes to pets, they get stuck in place too often, and they don’t teleport with you half the time when entering or exiting instances or using fast travel. But honestly, I attribute the loss to the emergency restart that happened today on my server.

There I am doing Wine Cellar, literally everything is fine. No problems whatsoever, everything smooth as butter. Then, bam…emergency restart, 10 min to get myself in order. It should go without saying that I was scrambling to get out of the dungeon. On my way back to entrance, I had to basically run past npcs that respawned and I constantly had to make my pets stop engaging with them and return to me. I managed to get out, but one of my pets didn’t teleport out with me. I could of rescued it, but by the time I was able to get out safely, its time for the restart. Next, I see there’s an update for CE. I finally log back in after the annoyingly long update, and I see my pet is gone completely. Event Log says it was DBNO, but no where in my follower list does it appear. So I can only assume it kicked the bucket…

Funcom, I’m begging you: For the love of all that is holy and good in this world, IMPROVE the way you handle emergency restarts. 10min for a normal restart is fine. As a player, I can and should be expected to learn the normal restart times, as they consistently happen everyday at the same time and I should be a smart boy and prepare for them accordingly. But when you wanna dish out emergency restarts that give the same 10min while players are in the middle of something like the Wine Cellar, its just simply NOT ENOUGH TIME.

Can someone please explain to me why emergency restarts have to be 10min? Because they are emergency? Well by that logic they should be less than the “normal” time until restart, which is 10min. Why can’t they be idk, 30min? Hell I’d even be fine with 20min… At least then I would of had enough time to run back to entrance, leave the dungeon, rescue my pet from wherever its stuck and maybe even get back home. MAYBE, if it was 30min, instead of leaving I could of just simply blitzed the rest of the dungeon and made it out in time.

Maybe maybe maybe…But no, all I get is 10min to stop what I’m doing, run past dungeon npcs like a bat out of hell. And because its the Wine Cellar, I had to jump across that broken bridge which is guarded by relic hunters. I had to burn time trying to get them away from the edge of the bridge lest I fall to the abyss trying to recklessly jump it and they block my landing.

Do you see where I’m going with this Funcom??? Simply put: 10min is NOT enough time for emergency restarts…Please please please increase how much time you give the player!

Just so you know , for next time especially in the wine cellar , you can jump in the void , it will teleport you back to the begining of the dungeon , so you didn’t have to run all the way , just find the nearest void , even not making the broken bridge jump , for all dungeons ( wine cellar included ) if you log out , it will also teleport you to the begining upon login back in.

Now I’m not arguing the fact that indeed 10 minutes can be a bit short notice , for unannounced updates.

But wouldn’t that also drop all their gear? (I’ve never tried it, so I don’t know, but it would seem like it would count that as a ‘death’.)

Can also find a spot for the thralls that is safe, put them on scouting, log out. When you log back in you’ll be at the beginning of the dungeon and thralls should have returned home or will shortly. Stay out of vicinity of them and your base.

But then how would you be able to recover your body at the bottomless void ? so they didn’t make it a death count just a get teleported back to the beginning and get gud :stuck_out_tongue:

Great news
