The price is 3430 Crom Coins, i. e. about 30 US dollars / Euro.
That is about as much as the game itself or more than three of the old DLCs - for five pieces of ingame furniture and a tiny little staff you cannot even really see on your character. For the same amount of money, you can buy some pieces of real-world furniture*.
The pieces look nice, but I doubt designing them took so much time that it justifies this price - and if it does, that was not a good investment of humanity’s limited resources.
Showing supposed “discounts” for items without any previous (or later) non-discounted price for the same item seems pretty questionable. Are they begging to get sued?
I find this outrageous.
*Yes, cheap furniture probably manufactured under questionable environmental and working conditions, and I’m deeply sorry for any furniture gourmets present, but it is what it is.
I am not going to go into the price with this lot, since I am not impartial with the Stygian theme.
But I bought it, I’ve been waiting for this lot since I saw it by mistake on the panel.
And I can say that it looks spectacular, the fountain is amazing, and I love the usefulness of some of the furniture dedicated to witchcraft, the level of detail is great. It is a comment that I publish in case anyone is interested in buying it.
On the other hand, the issue of prices and supposed discounts is questionable. But as I have already mentioned, my taste for the Stygian theme is high.
I suppose I’m willing to pay for Stygian things, but for nothing more and that’s because of the prices, as you’ve mentioned, they are high.
What may be a terrifying surprise to some is that the Stygian Pantheon is not the same as the Egyptian Pantheon. There are a couple of gods they share, many of which are not exactly the same between the two, but the ones available here… heheheh….
What is pissing me off in bazaar is not the prices, but the fact, that someone talented (stygian set looks decent) IS working on those new offers. So why not allocate more manpower to do, idk, new age - instead of just creating those cashgrab bazaar merch? Tencent is so blind about this game potential…
Answer the first: because they want to make money. Bottom line plain and simple ages. Don’t make money. The bazaar still makes money at least a little.
Answer the second: the people working on assets, building blocks, placeable items. Perhaps this is their talent. This is their skill. This is what they are trained for. That is not exactly the same as figuring out how to map the movement of NPCs so that they don’t fall through the Earth and into a pit of non-existence. So the skills to make these new items these new trinkets for the bazaar is perhaps not the same as the skills needed to untangle the whole ass plate of spaghetti that the code for this game is.
A person can carve beautiful reliefs into the wood that is used to create your furniture. That does not mean that individual is capable of measuring out and creating the blueprints, the architectural underpinnings for a full-sized barn or home.
It was a rhetorical question but at the same time - asset creator (or couple of them if tencent would be so kind to fund them) could create a package like battlepass and gather more new/returning players to earn even more and even faster. Yet they only focus on small additions and satisfy themselves with minor income.
