Oh that is Fun, Crom!
So what is this we are dealing with? 2025 „overall Corporate Identity“, with their Motto being „ Let us just forget our everybody’s Lifes is about other Humans, about working together, about standing up for each others if the need arises”; Integrity, Honor, Honesty, y’all know, things we average people admire in Movies + TV Shows!
But we have let them (Gaming Corporations) walk their course for almost two decades (mind you, abusive Stores started with TES Oblivion, the (in)famous Horse Armor – do not flag my Post just for mentioning ANOTHER GAME but Funcent’s, just fort he sake of comparison; ofc adressing the Boogey-Man /-woman, who tends to flag Posts in here).
So, things have come down this way, paying for Internet-Access is mandatory nowadays in gaming, nice feature established about 1 and a half decade ago! But monetarizing? Duh (-ne lol!), I dunno…
But now, what the Hulk is my Post about??
I am a silent reader, most oft he time, and the conclusion of reading past 3 months‘ Posts confirms that FunCent offers something, but not even quarter the effort appropriate to make the Game !simply! running again… so, FunCent has not much to nothing to give.
But what has CE, has it ANY good worth staying for? Has it? Has it???
Yes, even namely: the Community! @Codemage (The Master of reason & Communication, Brain oft he Community) @stelagel (Keeper of Balance & Harmony + Peace) @kikigirl (our diligent „Matron“ and Kinlady)
Just to name a few! It is the passionate, understanding (and sometimes the ones willing to smack around a bit haha) people who don’t even make this community succeed, but our overall Communities – make of this what you want, but in my view, YOU (and 0fc others I haven’t named!) are the reason to keep our stance, to stand for what is good and to fight for what it is worth – you are the legit Inheritants of Conan!
PS: on PlayStation? If you’d like to, add me there, name’s the same as on this Forum (AmonAmit / PhuckYou; Profile Pic‘ s a Karate-Kid-Cat (not Kit-Kat haha).
Stay awesome, fellow Exiles!
I haven’t been here for a long time, but I decided to react to this amount of sugar - my friend, do you have diabetes and do you want to give it to others or what do you mean?
I will answer to this part with pros and cons, but mostly by sharing my experience which i believe is no different than many others.
It took me a lot to “digest” that i have to pay 2 psn subscriptions just to be able to play with my son above everything else. I was beaten harshly from the financial crisis of 2009 and living in a country like mine is no easy to recover. But eventually a second console arrived to my house so i did it without second thoughts. Playing Conan without dlcs after so many years was not an option do i bought back all the dlcs too in a heartbeat.
Then again this game gave me the opportunity to meet wonderful people online and some of them are deep in my heart. I learn and share happiness and misery daily, this package that’s called life and we all know how harsh it can become some times.
So paying for gaming so much money annually may seem that it doesn’t worth it, but the package that may follow in our every day life can become priceless, freaking priceless actually. I open my heart freely while i do my best hobby and i get a priceless experience.
What the EU Cannibal Brutes have done to your country was beyond Necessity and justification.
Instead helping the Birthplace of Democracy they have forced Greece to sell their Assets out… but let’s not dive into politics too much.
Final conclusion is this: once we do not care four our fellow Co-humans no more, right like “It is on them, not me so let’s walk away pretending that nothing takes place. As long as I am not concerned or their target.”
Until they get into the focus of said power!
Anyways, wanted to share my appreciation for people like you - stay safe!
@UNfun is from Germany too, our little master chef is absolutely amazing person, you’ll see. I’ll try to add you in a general group with many “exile fools” we are globally on psn. The title of this psn group is our master chefs idea, not mine, but it couldn’t be more suitable of what we all are .
This one is deeply flattered, but please reconsider.
That said, good game… so much potential
Sadly aging like room temperature milk. But, as cliched as it sounds, the friends made along the way have come to outweigh to purpose of the forum itself.
The game is awesome but the micro-community mostly complains about the game here on this forum more than anything else. That’s not an assumption or an opinion, it’s what happens here more than anything else. The post history of most of the active people over the history if this forum shows more complaints than anything else. Though some of the complaints are merited, the bulk of the posts on this forum are not about how awesome the game is or the gameplay, tips, etc. It’s mostly complaints. It looks like a complaint board.
This one would juxtapose that the bulk of the complaints are merited.
But that’s also the nature of the beast. Why go to a forum if nothing is broken? This isn’t even the location that Funcom drops their news on a reliable basis.
Fundamentally, a bug report is a complaint. That complaint being, hey, xyz doesn’t seem to work, please fix.
When the best response or advice one can give is that the difficulty or problem is either persistent across patches or now considered a feature… that doesn’t really get things going.
This one would love to be inspired and enthusiastic about the game again. But that would require anyone working on it to demonstrate their own love and enthusiasm as well.
That said, there was a recent video from @Eradicati0n that mentioned some very interesting things in the devkit. Things that, if successfully implemented (and that is now the big hurdle, as we have seen how well concept translates to implementation in this game over the years) should make at least a few people quite happy.
I had the same problem when my mother wanted to play occasionally. It’s a bit of a hassle but you can have two accounts play at the same time online with only one subscription. Simply create both accounts on both consoles and set one of them as “primary“ for the paid subscription account.
Then you can play online with your paid account on the non-primary console while the same time the non-paying account can play on the primary console.
My mother doesn’t play anymore but I just checked and this is still working, DLCs are shared but of course no Bazaar items. Works the same on Xbox by the way!
Now this would be awesome. Invite me if it is okay with the others, @Kikigirl mentioned it might be over, well: maybe, but what will we tell the “Lord of death“? “… not today.“
@AmonAmit thankyou for your kind words! I am humbled. I have been in process of winding down my presence here, at least in the public forum. However, I still tend to log on periodically as I have several dear friends I chat to in private messages, which I can only correspond with via the forum. Nonetheless, I felt compelled to break my my silence and reply to your post. In fact it was a heartening beacon of positivity, which harkons back to, or at least reminds me of better times. Both with regard to the forum and Conan Exiles itself. Although I must confess, though I will not get to try it until the weekend, the new Update looks very promising.
Nothing wrong with standing on the outside looking in. Sometimes the biggest hearts in our troubled world are the ones which go unnoticed. Though incidentally, I do recall you from you user avatar of Chuck Norris, as I like the guy. And as I have shared with a handful of other kindred spirits, I myself have spent no few years studying martial arts. That was awesome of you to give a shout out to all of the members you tagged in. Though we as a community argue amongst ourselves, and we may not always see eye to eye on key issues, every last person you just tagged into this thread are exemplarly people who I have healthy respect for. In fact every other month, myself Sestus2009, Stelagel, Lost Brythunian and UNfun will rendevous online and have a fun foray into Conan Exiles. Though I am predominantly an Offline Singleplayer. How do you tend to play @AmonAmit?
