Is it worth playing Conan in 2026?

Friends, what do you think about Conan in 2026? Is it worth installing and playing again? Especially if there is no one to play with and there is little time for games in general, since there is also a family and children. I fell in love with this game a year after its release and couldn’t tear myself away from it. But now I’m alone, all my friends are busy with work, relationships, and their own affairs. They don’t want to play Conan. I would be grateful if you could suggest a Discord channel where I can find company to play with on weekends.

Hi there.

I can recommend a PvE Oceania server that I play on. Enter “Crom’s Cafe” in Funcoms server search box. The full server name is longer but this will get you there.
There is discord but I can’t remember where I stored it.

Great active, friendly, helpful Admin. Just the standard rules, ie be nice to each other and have fun.

Latest updates have much new stuff for builders. Modding is still quite active. It’s Hyborian Age/Conan. And as solo(/private) player myself, I would say yes.

And when you start playing, it is more likely to find new people to play with

I think I have played it more since the December patch than I have most of 2025.

If you haven’t played in a while then, yes it’s worth it to play in 2026 because there have been some updates, features and additions.

If you play almost everyday hoping for new content to add to your adventures then the answer is perhaps not worth it…. Will be up to FC to decide if it’s worth playing still in 2026.

People new to the game will have a blast on PVE/Single player. They aren’t aware of most of the bugs. On PVP… deppends on the server.

Old timers like us… we have to “cultivate” the adequate disposition to play and tolerate the result of a lot of bad decisions and lack of game fixing. Some can muster the will to do it while others just can’t stand it any longer. I can understand and sympathize with both groups. But for new players, Conan exiles is always a hell of a ride, IMO.

Mr Robert if you’re looking for company in this game you have to be more specific. You have to name your console type, your mode preference , and Region so people can suggest the best possible.

Yes this game totally worth it especially if you have so long to touch it , it will be for sure a different game from the one you knew and probably see in it, things you may have dreamed and requested years ago .

I am very happy for you my fellow exile and i wish you more of this happiness. I do remember these days back then not having time or energy for video games, it’s totally normal. I assure you that “daddy’s time” will eventually arrive .

I wish you the best of luck mate, nice to have you back in the game.

In general.

No.

If you have friends to play with, or have a deep and abiding desire to build with squares and triangles, it’s still pretty good for that, altho a fair number of building tricks have been patched out.

The game hasn’t appreciably changed in the past couple of years. The new purge was the last real addition of note (there have been other things, but this one finds them meager, at best worth a single go and then… not inspiring. Dark Dregs for example. Good content. Lore appropriate story. But it’s brief and linear. The same with most of the “events” which are basically rotating tours of tedium and grinding). Sorcery and the build hammer were significant, but that was years ago.

Stamina has been modified and remodified and nauseum… but that’s a fiddly bit, not a gameplay revolution.

In short, no.

If you left because you were bored, you’ll be gone again with less time spent playing than re-installing and updating.

The game can’t be that boring, because you are still here.

You are still playing the game so it can’t be that bad.

Selective literacy is such a fascinating thing.

The game is boring… Unless you are gaming with friends/enemies or have a deep and abiding love of building blocks. If someone left the game before because they were bored, they will be bored with what is here now because it largely hasn’t changed. If they don’t have people to play with, there isn’t much dynamism to play. The vast majority of games have that same situation to them, play thru once and you’re done. Nothing inherently wrong with that.

But is the game worth coming back to? Probably not. Unless one left for a very specific reason that has been addressed, it’s not new and exciting, there’s not much more to do, and what there is often is only sometimes available and much of it is grindy.

As for this one… You guess, does this one socialize in this game (and forum) or does this one enjoy blocks and dolls? Because the gameplay itself is a snoozer now.

Stop ascribing your reasoning for how others view the game.

You might as well be lecturing them on why their favorite ice cream flavor is wrong.

We are allowed to have different opinions.

The game has changed a lot since “a year after release”. Might be worth a second look.

There are also several very interesting new maps (e. g. Savage Wilds, Legend of Shem, Desolate Lands, Isle of Women) if you want to try out the new mechanics on a new map.

You are correct. “We are allowed to have different opinions”.

We are all allowed to express them here as well. I simply expressed mine.

Stop ascribing your reasoning for how others view the game.

Where, exactly, did I do such a thing?

Did I say something immature like:

If you’ve seen The Wine Cellar then there’s not going to be much that’s new in the main game. Some new sorcery bits and the ability to sell/buy thralls, after they’re placed, were recently added. I can also say the game is easier than it’s ever been.

There are some rotating events that may interest you but they may not come back around before you get bored and quit again.

If you do play be sure to set all sorting options on all your chests and stations to none. Else things can disappear and otherwise get very messy.

What I would suggest is casually trying out different servers to get a feel for what the people playing there are like. There are some good crowds on a number of the official PC servers. I would assume console would be the same though my understanding is there’s no in-game chat on consoles. Which may be why you’re asking about discord.

Fact.

Id say if you played it before, the experience havnt changed much - depends if you like pve or pvp

if you like pvp - Id suggest you stick to private servers as the popularity seems to have switched to those spaces

Personally I think the game is still great and I play it with much joy still in 2026

If you play SP, just make sure to disable Living Settlements. It’s broken. Not sure if this will ever be fixed since it was disabled on official last Aug.

Also, if you’re looking for a populated OC server, Oceanic PVE - RL Friendly is really active atm and has no ping cap so can play with ur friends from around the globe
