The Stygian conscripts probably keep it thinking they can smoke it like some lotus.
They know they’re boned. Put them in the wheel, they all are wearing bracelets. There is no going home for them. They die here, certainly a deserter or two has bitten the dust trying the green wall, and they know it. So now they look for any flowers to snort.
Little do they know that having taken this flower from one of the Lord of the Hunt’s places, they have made themselves favoured prey.
Or maybe Jhebbal Sag cultist have been slipping the blooms into the Khemite’s packs, the same way you give an invader seeds for their pouches. So when they die, their blood will nourish pretty flowers in the land they are now defiling.
This is a thing this one can, with surprisingly little torture, make that make sense.
In this regard, perhaps that is even deliberate on the part of those putting their loot table together. This one does not know, but having that item in particular as a drop from the Stygians squatting at Al Merayah could be a very nice touch of deliberation.
That it’s only at that location is something of a nice touch and feeds into the narrative about Jhebbal Sag taking a more active notice or at least one of his champions being in the basement of a tower there.
