I’m new to Conan so sorry if this is a stupid question. But a message popped up saying " A revivifying spirit is scouting your lands…The invasion will begin in 10 mintues" is that a purge?

Yes. Each wave will have a splash screen at the center announcing the beginning of each wave, and one for the end of purge saying they were defeated.

To clarify, there is one at the beginning , so you have some time to prepare for the actual purge. Then there is another one for each wave, and at the end. My purge test yielded darfari/exiles/hyenas, so the messages are not identical depending of the composition of the purge.
