Will all resources, recipes, weapons, thralls, animals and feats as applicable make the journey to the new map? Will we end up loosing some of the available items? Examples being, items or crafting materials from the Dagon dungeon. Or other unique encounter drops and legendaries?
Can we still purchase certain pets from vendors in new locations? (Locust/Bird/Spider/Camel)? What about Jhebbal Sag and his potions/dungeon? Shadebloom? I would assume you guys were very thorough or decided early on that some things did not need to make the transfer to the new map.
Is the intention to have everything formerly available still be available… in addition to the new content?
Those are some excellent questions! I hope they answer them either on the forums or during their stream tomorrow.
And I would also like to know if there are any recipes that can be used on the base map. For example, if I’ve bought the expansion, can I build those beautiful glass windows on the old map?
Maybe the new “Vault” dungeons drop a variety of gear from the original map. In Anarchy Online they have a boss called the “Collector” who collects all items in the game. You essentially have a chance to get any type of loot from him. It’s a great end game mechanic, and one that I would be happy to hear they ported over in some manner to one of their newer games. Can’t wait for the live stream tomorrow.
It meets the definition of expansion. For the last 30 years, this is how expansions have been handled in many games. MMORPGs do it differently, but this isn’t a MMORPG.
Judging by the changenotes in the devkit, it could potentially be double the content.
I’ll have to see how it finally works out before making a decision. As for map size. See point 2.
I’d have liked this actually. On this we can agree.
I doubt we will be able to craft them (especially Pride of asier armor requiring Frozen temple smithy) but those armors will be available as drops from those “dungeon vaults” and summoned NPC’s.
Current game - 40 Euros (not on sale). Expansion - 20 Euros. Double the content for half the price, seems reasonable.
