I’m playing on the Savage Wild map. Perhaps this bug only occurs on this map, which is why I’m asking the people who created this map to get together again and make some improvements here.
Killed enemies often sink into the ground, and you can’t get hold of their bodies or the items they’re carrying. The same thing happens when you defeat thralls.
The thralls’ behaviour in combat annoys me every time. They usually focus on just one opponent. Why can’t it be programmed so that the thralls automatically face the enemies one-on-one? I’m often on my own in battles, which makes me wonder why I bother bringing the thralls along at all.
Furthermore, it annoys me in battles that I often get the thrall menu displayed when I want to select an opponent and order the thralls to attack.
It would be nice if something positive could be changed permanently in this regard.
Bodies falling under the mesh is much more of a problem in single player than on a server. If you are playing on a server and this is happening frequently, contact the server admin or find a server with a lower ping.
Thrall AI will attack the mob that has last damaged them. With multiple enemies, the one you are attacking most likely is not attacking your thralls. The AI for War Party doesn’t really add anything to the single follower AI. If you are using a mod that allows you to exceed the base game follower limit. that will likely confuse your followers more. If you want your followers to attack the mob you are on, the you can always manually order them to attack your target.
Displaying the follower menu sounds like a keybind issue or maybe a PBKAC problem.
That doesn’t come from the mod, it’s a base game problem.
There are two things you can do:
Move away from where the dead/unconscious thrall went down, until you cannot see it anymore. I don’t know the exact distance required, but you have to force the game to render that spot again. Try 50 m and running around a corner to break line of sight. After you return, the body/thrall may lie on the floor where it’s supposed to be. Corpses and unconscious thrall stay behind for quite a while, so there’s no rush.
For corpses, try hacking the ground with a pick or pick-axe. It often connects to the body even if it invisible.
These tricks don’t always help, and it’s still annoying, but maybe it’ll ease the pain a little bit.
Things falling through the floor is possibly the No 1 requiested bugfix on the forum btw. You’re not alone.
