It is VERY, VERY SAD about God bubbles, guys

Yes, I would.

When giving feedback, hyperbole tends to lead to feedback getting ignored because people who resort to hyperbole tend to seem less credible than people who present facts as they are.

but you didn’t ignore it you focused on it to undermine my reasoning, while in reality all you have literally done is undermine your own with fallacies, so good job

Thats why you use Zath

The bubble has never worked for us since it doesn’t protect against bombs or trebuchets, the 2 man clan that was constantly raiding us just plowed through like nothing so fairly useless unless being attacked by an avatar. Especially these days when you can set the explosive jar like any other placeable, Funcom keeps ruining defensive measures in every update. It’s all for attackers.

You aren’t building in the right places.

There are only a small handful of defendable locations to build in.
The Gutter and Keyhole being the more well discussed ones.

Basically, tuck your base up into a ceiling of a permanent structure, so only the bottom is exposed material that can be destroyed. Some avatars can strike thru permanent terrain, and the underside can be shot with explosive arrows. The Bubble removed those concerns.

To clarify, defense is already far too weak in this game and the IED meta makes fortresses a joke, walls may as well be paper machĂ©. However, the very tiny number of actually functional base builds (that aren’t flying or undermeshing) rely on the Bubble as the final part of the near impervious set up.

Yes and that comes with caveats.

I have come to the conclusion that the increase in distance placement and easier placement was a response to perceivably “unraidable” bubbled ceiling bases.

There are a few places that really are unraidable with a bubble and that has been a recent development.

Perhaps the removal is a response to that

It’s a gruesomely inelegant solution.

This one’s entire PvP style is solo despoiler, so this would be a boon

If it weren’t already too easy.

For those hiding in the gutter, this one would just post signs around their base calling them unkind names.
But at the end of the day, how much fun can someone have hiding in such a place, sneaking out to find sacrifices to the fake god that offers them the only protection on can feel in a world where stone walls are tissue and a person has to spend several seconds wrapping a bandaid, but can set a half dozen explosives to blow in a second from 5 meters away?
It’s a sad existence and they punish themselves by prolonging it. Turning play into work.

That said, this one doesn’t want to spill all the beans on the inside and outs of the somewhat quirky (read: buggy) fortifications system. By this point, this one isn’t entirely certain what is working as intended and what is an commonly exploited bug.

You’re reading an awful lot into one comment, but, since we might benefit from a reminder of the context of our little sidetrack, I’ll quote your full post that I first commented upon here:

Am I understanding correctly that the “reasoning” you refer to is that invisible animals and Siptah crashes are not problems Funcom should focus on fixing? Did you consider that the crashes when entering certain regions on the Siptah map may be the reason why we’re seeing such low participation numbers on said map?

The “invisible animals” bug seems to plague consoles more than PC, maybe that’s why you haven’t encountered one. Or maybe you’ve just missed them because they are, you know, invisible.

I apologize for being so dismissive and not addressing these points in your reasoning more thoroughly before, but in all honestly, the post is a little light on the whole reasoning department.

No you are not understanding it correctly, you do miss the point entirely, it was the disparity in highlighting the community voices in the live chat alongside the “you have been heard” sentiment, when these things are far from the most prominently frequently discussed issues by the playerbase.

I don’t buy for a second that regional crashes is contributing to low engagement on the map, I am sure it doesn’t help but siptah has only ever fallen lower in popularity regardless of stability.

I can see why you would think it is light on reasoning having failed to grasp its core premise.

In other words, you don’t think the invisible animals and Siptah crashing are problems Funcom should focus on fixing.

I’m sure you understand why they brought those two up now: because a fix to both is on the way and they wanted to tell people positive news regarding bug fixing. I did browse through the crapstorm that was the chat during the stream, and most of that didn’t warrant a reply anyway. (This gets back to certain flavors of feedback getting consistently ignored.) And it would’ve taken the whole stream and more if they had commented “we’re aware of that issue but don’t have a schedule for a fix yet” to every one that did.

The point of the stream was to market things that are coming in a foreseeable future, not list things they haven’t done. No company makes advertisements telling their customers where they’ve failed - and despite the illusion of interactivity, an advertisement is what the stream really was.

And as a counterpoint, the Siptah crashes (with the inability to log back in) and the invisible animals bug have been troubling quite a few people, based on the discussions I’ve seen. It’s possible we’re just focusing on different media.

I’m tempted to start a new dialogue on how implying things and reasoning are two different matters, but we’d be back into semantics, so I’ll leave it at that.

Reporting skybases and other exploits is pointless. You waste the time typing up a report and providing evidence, and then get an automated response 2 weeks later that “Due to a high number of contacts from the community they were unable to investigate. Hopefully the problem has resolved on it’s own”

That has not been my experience, and although I’ve taken time off, I still have loads of active friends on servers. They say skybases are handled with rapidity, as long as legitimate proof was given. This is neither an accusation nor an inference about anyone you’re talking about who may have reported bases in the past. I will tell you if one needs to use an exploit in order to report the exploit, these will be weighed with much less severity. If you’re reporting a skybase, use a bat (if possible) or a Tower to Heaven.

We lost the skybeams on T3 Temples due to a claim of server performance. Now we’ve lost God Bubbles, likely due to a similar issue. Or possibly an old glitch: my oldest savegame back to 2017, for instance, has an unkillable God Bubble that tanks my performance. Uglies up the sky with its frowny storm, etc. I would bet many users would rather have God Bubbles ended than do what’s necessary to remove the issue.

Uhhh
what server you play on where skybases have been “rapidly” dealt with!? There’s loads of videos on youtube where players show skybases, showed that they reported them, and weeks later, still nothing done. I seriously need to know what server you’re on that zendesk jumps all over to remove hackers because I need to get off of 1530, 1526, etc

This has been exactly the messages I have always received when I sent in multiple videos, screenshots, etc of meshed bases, skybases on playstation and on pc.

Like I said, it’s been a while. 1545 and 1809, at the time high pop and low pop respectively. Low meaning 12-14 regulars.

Steam friends have shown me the evidence, I have helped them if they needed (due to language usually), and they have filed reports on their own. I don’t think it would be appropriate or necessary to disclose their servers. It does happen, and the Zendesk App is smart enough to prioritize. I know because my company uses it.

Do you think that maybe your reports are prioritized due to the nature of your relationship with funcom perhaps?

As I said, pretty clearly actually, my friends and their friends or ESL contacts are the ones responsible for the reporting. Not me.

It was quite some time ago, and I have done my fair share of fighting glitchers and cheaters. I used to love finding and destroying sleepers, for instance.

sadly @Barnes actually it’s seem to be 3-4 weeks in best case, which means there is a problem to prioritize clear cheating case with clear evidence easy to treat due to clear infos provided, . i have known in past quick answer aswell, but actually situation is very bad (may be because summer hollidays time). let’s hope it will improve because their was this summer an invasion of people using bug.

I noticed a uptick in handling zen tickets. Of course the pictures help speed things up. 1 picture of the clan name on the offended structure, at least one picture of precise location(maybe more of you need to like for skybases you might need to zoom but at least a full size map , and at least one to show the scope. The thing is you got to provide the evidence and help them find it. They are t going to fly around the general area scouring the skies in the jungle. You gotta do that work for them.
