Journey Broken - Purge Defender - Convert a Purge Thrall step incompletable

Bug Description:

I play on Official Server #1500, on the Exiles Lands map, and I am a level 60 character. I knew we were close to getting a purge event, so I activated the Purge Defender, Journey. Yesterday a purge triggered, and during the purge I knocked out a Tier 4 Blacksmith, and placed him on a Greater Wheel of Pain. Doing these actions, completed the following journey steps:

Trigger a Purge
Knock out a Purge Enemy
Complete a Purge

Today, the thrall training on the wheel was complete. I claimed the thrall (Master Blacksmith Ulfric) and placed him on a Garrison Blacksmith Bench. None of these actions complete the final step: Convert a Purge Thrall.

I can’t find much information online about this, however I did find one Reddit thread where someone said it worked for them when they placed the knocked out purge thrall on the wheel, after the purge completed. There are many people that have had this issue, however there is a belief that this journey step can only be completed by placing a Tier 4 thrall on the wheel (which is what I did).

I guess I won’t start a bug report about having the purge end as soon as I took a swing at a named attacker. I assumed the timer ran out but then noticed it had not been 30 minutes since the first wave attacked. The second time it happened (the next purge) I didn’t worry about it too much as I was busy fighting the last wave that spawned 5 dragons (one was 3 skulls) at once.

Have all purges suddenly gotten much harder? I’ve had 3 in a row that were totally outrageous in strength (one had around 150 berserkers, one had 2 of Emyr’s daughters and the last one the 5 dragons) while set at level 5.

Yes, my server had this issue as well. The T4 thrall I had placed on the wheel in the middle of the action didn’t count, but luckily we’d knocked out a couple people, so there were some unconscious when the purge was defeated and these did count for the journey step.

I also had the same issue, and it’s because most of the purge enemies count as being on the Isle of Siptah map now. The only purge that worked for me for this step was the central summon (Dafari warrior was knocked out)
I hope this helps, it certainly is most frustrating…

That step of the journey is actually completed by dragging a purge thrall to the wheel and interacting with the wheel to place them inside.

It’s not triggered when the thrall is converted or when placed in the bench, only when put in the wheel from a rope.

So the trick here is that the thrall you knocked out in Step 2 would actually complete this step, but you first need to complete the purge and only THEN drag the thrall to the wheel.
Ofc you can complete this step during the next purge
