I think it’s more like… the NPCs aren’t going to show up on the forums and complain that they got killed by XYZ weapon and how that needs a nerf
@Xevyr No just pretty much exactly what I said. I am sorry that it “affects” pve but if you think that everything funcom puts out is perfect than you should open your eyes
I doubt there’s a single soul out there who believes this lol
I never said everything funcom puts out is perfect… so I don’t know where you got that idea from.
What I CAN tell you though is that no matter WHAT they put out, there’s always going to be people who dislike it and complain… since you can’t please everyone…
This is even more apparent when it comes to PvP. You can go ahead and look at ANY videogame forum of ANY developer… and let me know if you find a single one where the forums aren’t full of “Nerf this…” “That’s too OP”… “Fix matchmaking”… “You ruined the game with this / that update” etc…
So no, I do not believe that everything is perfect… in fact I said so in many threads that I think the game has a lot of bugs and I really dislike that they released the update before it was ready…
However I DO believe that if there was such a thing as a “perfect” game… players would still find things to complain about
I mean, you know how it goes.
Cow goes moo
Duck goes quack
PVP players complain that the game is unbalanced
And this is why so much of the gear in this game is watered down trash.
I’m pretty sure they’d just complain that thralls need to be nerfed.
Let me see if I get this right… Because the Katana is a two-handed agility weapon, you want it nerfed? I give all my fighter and archer thralls with high agility a Katana when I level them up. Some stay that way. In one case, the thrall had daggers when I took her off the wheel. Again, it is an agility weapon. When I looked at her unleveled stats, it was an eye-opener. She is op when it comes to agility now that I have her leveled up. Her agility stat is at 57 (+11) if I run a war party. If I run with one thrall and respec not to have a war party, she gets an additional +20 points.
When you look at what the weapon does, they are not that different from the other weapons. An Epic Katana does 48 health damage. That identical Katana crafted by a bladesmith does 59 damage. A Legendary Katana does 60 damage.
Their damage is in line with any other weapon in the game. They are a lite fast, two-handed sword and get the advantage of several lite attacks mixed in with the occasional special attack and a heavy attack combo. Yes, I have had T4 fighters block the special and heavy attacks. They did not last long under the withering blows of the normal attack of the Katana when they moved their shield to attack me.
Take a look on the first video that SirDaveWolf posted in the main post, that’s 700 dmg
Yes, if used properly, any weapon in-game can do an insane amount of damage. When I am out leveling thralls, I have literally one-shot the lower-level NPCs with a Katana. The named and higher-level NPCs take longer.
In 1 hit? I know it is not “easy” to perform on a player. But it is in the game nonetheless and it is possible, as you can see in the other 2 videos from real gameplay.
Imagine the spear had a charge attack, where you stand in position charging for 3 seconds and then slamming it on the ground dealing 800 damage to players. Example animation taken from Naraka Bladepoint:
Would it be reliable? No. But players would still SPAM it and if you are unlucky because of lagg or you are unaware for a few seconds (we are all humans, mistakes happen) you lose your expensive kit within a second. Because of a lousy oneshot.
If used properly? Please show me how to use any other weapon properly to do 700+dmg
Katana is fine as it is, hard to use nice if it happens but rarely does as a lot learn to avoid fast, and its easy to.
Been said many times already by various other people, please leave it alone.
Greatsword, hit from the back with control can do 700+ damage, but that one is slow and takes a long time to recover, it also only hit once xD
This is harder to hit than Katana light + light + light + offhand.
No it wasn’t. They said it themselves.
Like what?..
I mean no disrespect, I see very often that PvP players in this game think that they’re doing something very important with severe consequences etc… and that’s when I must point out that you’re playing a game that does NOT have a PvP mode… it merely has player / base damage enabled for people to mess around with it in a sandbox…
There is nothing keeping score… no leaderboards… no bronze, silver… diamond leagues… You lose your stuff eventually whether you’re being offlined or just a kit through fighting… etc…
I know that people like to think that what they’re doing is the most important thing ever, but no… pvp does not have any more consequences than pve… if a purge wipes your base you’re still losing pixels… but still not being “deleted” or your skills / talents reset…
So both modes have as a consequence the potential losing of digital sandbox assets… nothing more… nothing less.
lol… you didn’t just type that… hahahaha The entitlement…
Do you use a katana?
Are you ok? Does not have PvP mode? What do you think the original player base was? RPG players? you don’t belive what you wrote do you? you trolling 100%
yes i wrote that since expirience in this game counts a lot. Like in real life, you know?
Not anymore. Since as a content creator i just can’t promote it.
