Trying to play my owned and well built on game , and am told by Playstation I need to ungrade membership to higher level AND rebuy the legacy exiles and siptah games? Seriously?
Uninstalled, and tried to reinstall, and nope saying I need playstation Plus EXTRA membership to be able to play it AND need to re-purchase ps 4 standard editions of both exiles and siptah.. this cannot be correct, paying twice for the game you already paid for?
As a disclaimer I don’t have a PlayStation so have no clue about them. Here’s what the Google ai had to say so hopefully it helps:
Your PlayStation does not require you to upgrade your subscription or rebuy games you already own. This error typically occurs due to a disconnected game license, an expired PS Plus subscription where the game was originally claimed, or a mix-up between PS4 and PS5 versions of the same game. [1, 2, 3]
Try the following steps to resolve this issue:
1. Restore Your Game Licenses
If you previously bought the game digitally or have an active subscription, your console’s license cache may have simply lost track of your purchase.
On PS5: Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses.
On PS4: Go to Settings > Account Management > Restore Licenses. [1, 2, 3, 4]
2. Check for the Correct Game Version
Often, the PlayStation Store will default to a PS5 version or a PS Plus Extra/Premium trial version, prompting you to “Buy” or “Upgrade.” [1, 2]
Navigate to the game on your Home Screen or Game Library.
Press the Options button (the three lines) on your controller.
Select “Game Version” or “View Product” and manually select the PS4 version or the edition you originally purchased/claimed. [1, 2, 3, 4]
3. Verify Account and Subscription Status
If the game was originally “claimed” as part of a monthly PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium subscription, you lose access to it if the subscription lapses or is downgraded. [1, 2, 3]
Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions to verify your subscription tier is still active. [1, 2]
Also from further reading this may be something that PlayStation support will have to help with.
