Lazy AI Programming & Purge Spawning

So I’ve never had a purge problem until I upgraded the base and now they spawn inside where the bed is WTF.
My building is on the K-L line in the middle of 6 on the map on a hillside so the purge just makes their way up. Either from the beach at each side or from the bottom.
Same layout just better materials.
But now they spawn directly where my bed is ignoring all fortifications & thralls.
What’s the point in a fortified location if they spawn inside your room?
Yeah I get the not taking advantage of the N64 level AI and not being able to climb but not being able to make its way up a hill is ridiculous.
I’ve included pictures of the map location, spawn location and the way they used to come up.
This is definitely game breaking. Rendering building anything pointless if they’re going to spawn at your bedside.
Sidenote. Why is there only one purge wave now?

Purges spawning inside a base is a legitimate complaint.

Lazy would imply they know how to fix it and choose not to. Its clear they just don’t know how to fix most of these bugs. Being nasty or being kind to the devs won’t get any results. Either way they arent capable of fixing it, been an issue on and off since launch.

Sometimes they deserve to hear the truth :slight_smile: I think people are way to nice approaching them, almost all of these problems that we see today have been existing problems for years :slight_smile:

I have been having that problem for months seems to be worse since last update. Nothing like having yetis in your house. I keep some sort of well equipped thrall in every area. Of course the NPC,S spawning inside foundations is bad also .

No it’s not. It’s been horrendous since the beginning. And not improved.
What’s changed in upgrading my base? The location is the same. The route to get there hasn’t changed.
But they struggle to navigate to the location? On an open hill? Come on. That’s terrible.

It is terrible and there’s no excuse for it. I’ve came to the realization that they arent capable of fixing it. Getting mad at them is like getting mad at a 2y/o for not knowing how to drive a car. The sooner we all accept they are inept the sooner we can enjoy the ever shrinking fun aspects of the game.

That would explain why half a building was destroyed but I couldn’t find where they were. No sight or sound of any mobs just a ruined building.

Sometimes you will see a response from your NPC,S and get a sense of where the purge is at. On the weekend my wife and I will crank up the purge meter on our server witch can keep you bouncing around the map . So we have had more purges than on official server’s.


Taken from Puge 101 in the Players helping Players section. Based on that I would guess that purges spawning in base is not going to change :roll_eyes:

This thread has nothing to do with truth. It has to do with being intentionally crass in the hopes of being offensive.

I doubt the devs are bothered, I am certainly not bothered, and I would suspect the community admins are not bothered.

But you will get some folks complimenting your tactics. This is a series of poor life choices, so I will leave you to them.

So the problem freedom. If the game was you could only build in certain area with very little uniqueness then no problem but we can practically build anywhere with not to many limits thus there tag attacking will not be good. If this was a simple enemy/build/defense game very easy to get attcked hard and die but with the freedom we have comes more problems most games that have theses freedoms have major issues where as some who give 50 50 can control the game better but there is to much for the ai to understand I’m are builds if it again had more limits then this would be much better

The real problem is to much freedom. A player builds a palace while another builds a small fort. Palace all over the place what is the base look like don’t know ai don’t have human eyes that sit there for a week planing an assault. Now small fort strong and easy build ai have much better time understanding that build.

Now yes if they targeted ground peice first be better but I place some on ground connection to my base on hill side well they destroy the ground peices now what. They can’t do anything else because they’re stuck.

It’s not lazy programming it’s to much freedom now mind you I like that but there’s just to much to handle the ai can not look at you base and know exactly how or way it was built

More freedom =more consequences
No thrall limit freedom = 200 thralls lag others and 1 player can’t fight that head to head
No build limits = people build and wall of areas, undermesh, etc

Less freedoms = no enjoyment
10 thralls = no point in getting them
50 building = no point in any dlc byes or building for that matter etc

Of the game to us to decide our path but lots of abuse or hateful people/ toxic players resulting in what’s the best limits. Problem most of us want to do what we want in the game in terms of building thus there is no way to reach a perfect limitation and until it’s governed it won’t be perfect or near to it

The decision you must make

More freedom with less mechanics to be more accurately function

Less freedom with better game that will be very accurate in its capabilities

Sure, but what is the truth? Is your perception the truth? Or are actual, irrefutable facts the truth? If you’re more inclined towards the latter, then I need to ask you where you get these facts, because as far as I know, you don’t work for Funcom, nor do you have any inside sources sending you pictures of Funcom’s bug fixers putting their feet up and sipping coffee all day while they should be working.

“The truth” isn’t something a few vocal people exploiting the (social) media create by repeating their message over and over again, much as these people would like others to believe so.

Haha, you really cant stop huh. “A few people” I would say a lot of people are kinda tired of stuff they cant fix.

You think it’s ok for bugs and glitches not being fixed for years? Elevators, been a problem since they came out now they prob worse than ever.
Invis hits been a thing for a really long time aswell also still there.
There are way more.

And I dont say they sitting and drinking coffe all day long. Idk if it’s a lack of knowledge or ignorance or even lazyness. I dont really care what it is. I just want they fix their stuff they been saying been fix but actually never been fixed.

If they actually make a update where they fix im there complimenting them aswell. But it feels like it is kinda rare they actually fix something without bringing something else in to the game.

Gods for an example, they had them inactivated for such a long time, but what did they really do during that time? I think a lot of people expected more because it was delayed and commented by the devs “we have some really good stuff going on with them” they make the expectations super high instead of keeping it in a low level. Better not say anything at all or just “we dont feel like realeasing gods right now”.
