Aye, I recently employed Yog to “take care” of my Vathises (no way I was letting the Funcompocalypse get them!), so we had ourselves a big ol’ Hierophant BBQ instead.

I do plan on getting the other gods too, but for now Yog fits my Texas Chainsaw Massacre base, and I absolutely want the skeletal decoration that altar 2 provides.

By the way, not so related but…what other skeletal stuff is in this game? I have the wind chimes and stakes with skulls, and I got lucky and killed a bearer thrall and his backpack had 50 skulls in it. Otherwise in the the cannibal camps I only found 8. What other morbid stuff is there. (I’m also nailing arms and legs in weapon racks in my house.)

But yes, I most certainly do appreciate the Yog meat. It lasts forever, it’s doing the job for me right now because I’m not very far in the game yet. Oh right…if you don’t have the canibal feat to eat raw meat, can you still eat hollowed meat? (I mean it looks cooked) I got the feat in the beginning so I’m kind of wondering, since eventually I will redo my stats.

Edit-Yog altar kills thralls? You just position them into the pit?

The icons are for teachers and religion priests. The priests are npc’ that can be captured. so they are aggressive.

Aaah, thank you, that makes sense. I did capture a Yog priest (who didn’t come from an icon place) but what do they do? I placed mine on my Yog shrine but I am unsure what he does.

Sadly not much more:

  • spending 1 fragment of power, obtained defeating bosses in Unnamed CIty, on the Archives in unnamed city you’ll learn Library of Esoteric Artifacts feat wich allows you to craft a Decorative Metal skull.

  • Collecting more randomized scrolls with the same method (1 fragement of power cost to obtain 1 scroll from the library in the Archives) you’ll eventually find also the recipe for Dead Leg, a better version (stats, because its a hammer) of the leg you can
    harvest from dead humans

  • Speaking about recipe from the Archives, the gravedigger is a useless weapon you can learn in the same way already described, but usefull for decoration

  • At Summoning Place (where you found the repice for skulls on stakes) you’ll also find the Witch Doctor recipe, allowing you to create undead pets.

  • Near Sinkhole you can kill undead hyenas and harvest their head, if you have the Big Game Hunter feat you’ll be able to craft Undead Hyena Head Trophy.

  • In Unnamed city and Volcano you can kill Skeletal Serpentmen and harvest their heads to craft Skeletal Serpentman Head Trophy with the Exotic Game Hunter feat.

Speaking of what you wear:

  • Hyena Skull Helmet (medium, helmet, resistence vs cold) is the best skull-themed helmet, there are also some skull-themed masks, but they are related to Derketo religion.
The Hyena-Fur Armor recipe can be learned by interacting with a totem displaying the armor at Scoundrel’s Gateway south-west of the Black Galleon.

  • Obviously when you’ll be 60 lvl go to the Arena and take the recipe for Dragonbones Weapons

EDIT:

  • Ah I was forgetting Apprentice Taxidermist feat, allowing you to craft Shaleback Hatchling Decoration (wich is skeletal)

  • And the feat for crafting cages, wich are made in bones.

Now I remember this skeletal stuffs in the game, maybe I’m forgetting something.

Anything less than Arch priest or named Priest is kinda worthless. They are just in the game to create RNG for the spawn points. The Arch and Named are used to make god bubbles for defense (Broken on officilals…server restart ends it to soon), and god tokens to summon avataars to do massive damage to bases (turned off atm on officials because of the god bubble issue).

Thank you for the valuable information mate. It helped me to find the witch doctor feat…I raided the summoning place like five times and never saw that, I swear lol. Paid more attention when y6pu mentioned undead kitties were there.

And metal skulls? Need myself some of them.

So…are there definitive ways to get normal skulls, without cheating, or are they just random finds? I need like 1000 of them for my catacombs.

No problem at all  In summoning place you already found the recipe to craft Impaled Skulls right ?

Time ago it was usual to harvest them using pick over dead npc bodies, since an updates one month ago circa peoples reported it didn’t work no more… I never investigated sorry, because playing since 11 months on the same server while raiding darfari’s villages provided me enough skulls to decorations and undead crafting :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I don’t think I’ve ever used a pick on a corpse. I’ll try it anyway, but if it’s been patched or broken by a patch.

And yes, I did get the impaled skulls recipes, thanks.

Well… Harvesting the Kinscourge seems to give a weathered skull every time, but I understand if you don’t want to kill him 1000 times just for that.

Harvesting skeleon enemies gives skulls, but it seems to be a rare yield or something…I only ever got ome skull from skeletons.

I generally felt like I had better luck getting skulls using an axe, but that’s anecdotal at best. YMMV.

On the subject of learning religions, I do wish that Dagon would be transformed into a fully fledged in game religion, and that he would grant us the knowledge of an acolyte as a reward for releasing him at the end of the Sunken City. In much the same way we learned JhebbelSag at the end of the Midnight Grove dungeon. I just adore this games religion system, and always seem to want more; which is a testimony as to just how good it is.

The Great God Dagon, and his Prophet Calamari the Tasty.

Tasty…Yog…Aye!

I would leave out “mglw’nafh”, because Dagon is not considered dead…

I feel that it would make sense. After all he spoke to us and we did him a personal favour in releasing him, which is more than many of his worshippers would achieve throughout the course of their entire lives. Not only that, but he is a part of the CE backstory, namely that of the Lemurians.
