In a f2p game they would be irksome, still wildly over-priced (digital goods only scarcity is tied to the number of users willing to pay, not scarcity of the items themselves,) but understandable.
Conan is in no way a f2p game. Between all available dlc packs & the isle of Siptiah it has a USD price tag of $100, barring sales.

I don’t find it predatory cause you don’t have to buy it to enjoy game and people that will buy it will actually bring more funds to develop game we love.
Im that guy that hates on predatory monetization models, ■■■■■ on greedy devs but this is not the case. I think this time they nailed it. As we saw DLC model didn’t work so they had to do something or just stop developing game - i rather have expensive 10$ single piece bazaar model than DLC with barely any game developement.
Only Battle pass uses FOMO which i dislike but still You can get it without spending money. Bazaar timed items will rotate and come back sooner or later.
I’m shocked with these Crom coins’ prices.
I bought ALL previous dlcs for 19 TL (about $1) and now they want me to pay up to 900 TL for 7800 Crom coins.
If there will be no regional pricing, then I’m not buying anything.

Wow, that must have been one heck of a sale for all DLCs to be that cheap. I’ve never seen anything close to that in USD.

Let’s add the rest of the Bazaar prices,
the Sandstone II build tile set at 1,000 coins
Arcane armor & staff skin “On Sale” from 1340 to 804
Ancient armaments pack, a series of 3 weapons skins, “On Sale” from 1020 to 663
Arcane Bookcase 760
Arcane Candelabra 250

Some countries have crazy low prices on steam - people abuse the hell of it.

I really wanted the two emote packs for my Tales from the Exiled Lands series, but 525 is exorbitant, and that is the half-off sale price.
I got 12 new emotes with The Debaucheries of Derketo DLC, in addition to everything else.
There is no way I would fork over more than 100 Crom Coins for an emote pack, and that is less than 10% the price they decided to go with.

They can change business models and I wouldn’t fault them for that. F2P definitely provides player base but the revenue is a bit more…irregular. This hybrid model is not widely known and so I’m curious why FC decided to take this path and not jump fully in the F2P methods…maybe it’s Executive hesitation and wanting to slowly move into the pool.

Current price for all of the cosmetic DLC’s and the Isle of Siptah map, if they are bundled together, comes to ~$100 USD. Their prices have varied from time to time due to sales & currency adjustments.

I bet F2P model would be predatory, probably even items that could impact gameplay and not only skins like we have not. So i rather have it the way it is to be honest.
Would you be willing to also include what each of those bundles contains (e.g. “6 building pieces and 3 decorations”)?
I can’t check until I get back from my business trip. I could wait, of course, but I’d prefer to be able to participate in the discussion
Thanks in advance!

Most likely an executive decision by Tencent as they own 95% of funcom’s shares, they are infamous for aggressive monetization models. Have a bit of a history of killing games that do not meet desired revenue targets or that fail to comply with Chinese laws especially if any form of compulsive spending & gambling get involved.

Yes but not hitting revenue targets does a great job at killing games anyways.

So don’t buy any of it. Pretty simple. The constant whining and hand wringing over optional items you don’t need has reached explosive levels of where we stand as a culture. If something is too expensive and you don’t feel its worth the money being asked, you simply don’t buy it.
@CodeMage - the sandstone build set is some optional walls and chimney pieces. I thought about it at first but I don’t stay in sandstone long enough to justify the cost of 1,000 crom coins (see how that works? I choose not to buy it because I don’t see a need for it and move on, non elevated blood pressure and all)
The bookcase didn’t have a picture but seems like just a bookcase. The candelabra was a twin candle set.
The armor was pretty cool so I picked that up.
I left the weapons alone because I don’t normally run those weapons as cool as they looked. I’d have liked them on thralls but… again not worth the money to me (again see how that works? no hand wringing, no wailing, no posting in the forums)
Bottom line - if people overall think the price is too high they won’t pay for it and Funcom will have to adjust. Whining about it online isn’t going to do anything. The only thing that will really matter is that bottom line - those cold black numbers on the balance sheet indicating if the assets are making the money that Funcom (Tencent) wants.
If 20 people online are throwing a tantrum in the forums but Tencent and Funcom are making the money they want from the bazaar - guess what? Its going to continue. If sales on the game plummet then they’ll rethink their strategy. Its as simple as that.

^^ Gladly.
The Black Magic Starter Set
- Contains 6 decorations consisting of 4 placable items, a wall decal, and a floor decal
The Echoes of Archeon
- Contains a 5 piece armor skin & a staff skin.
The Ancient Armaments
The Emotes Bundle 1
The Sandstone Set 2
- Contains 10 new sandstone pieces
The arcane bookcase
The Duo Candelabra
Regarding funcom adjusting prices, unless it leds to legal problems, they do not. The same goes for Tencent, they will kill games if they run foul of CPC law but that’s about it.

This! Our pocket books speak volumes more than our words will ever.
I really think this is just growing pains to a new culture in CE. DLC culture is one where you can collect it all and pride yourself on the collection. Storefronts that update regularly are ones where it’s near fiscally impossible to collect it all and so you are customizing your character/build to be unique while playing. It’s two completely different cultures and this is an abrupt change between the two. Adjustment time and patience is needed.
I’m curious: are you under the impression that the people who complain here will go and buy this stuff despite complaining?
If we’re talking about culture, I find it much more alarming that people are trying to silence feedback. Yes, the strongest signal we can send is to not buy stuff we find overpriced. And we’ll do that. But why, exactly, should we stay silent instead of also expressing our opinions here?
EDIT: Also, thank you @Ithharr for including the contents of the bundles

We shouldn’t. Funcom asked for feedback. Anyone who says those giving Funcom what they asked for are whining and hand-wringing are, in fact, the ones who are whining and hand-wringing, as those they have issue with are the ones doing that which was requested of them.

Believe me I won’t. I’m not going to allow anyone to keep me from voicing my opinion and disappointment in Funcom over this, however.

No worries. The total coin cost for everything currently on the shop comes to 6470 (assuming no “sales” on the items) or 4,842 coins for “discounted” prices.
This creates a minimum purchase point of a $35 5,040 crom coin package for all items + discounts in a best case scenario. In a worst case scenario it is x5 purchases of the $10 1,200 coin package. aka $50.
For the non-“sales” prices, the minimum required purchase would be the $50 7,800 crom coin package. In a worse case scenario it would be x7 purchases of the $10 1,200 crom coin package, aka $70.
