My fellow exile i will beg your forgiveness, i just noticed your topic. I wish i seen it faster, maybe the loss would be less.
In this game unfortunately you learn by loss. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger i guess.
So let me share some knowledge i have, maybe it will be helpful!
Before i start i will tell you something else. The game use to have a school, the exile lands. Your decision to go straight to the university makes your situation harder than it looks like, but so be it, let’s see what we can do.
Siptah has Accursed purges. Berserkers are a really nasty purge even in exile lands.
It’s a late game purge and you cannot accept them with a building less than tier 3 and without casualties. You have to be really experienced player and the performance must be great so you’ll get out of this without great loss.
Siptah provides plenty, let’s use them, shall we?
Fast reliable thralls
(let’s pretend here that khitan merchants don’t exist)
Temple of the loon! Fix a greater wheel of pain close to the temple of the loon and you’ll get a bunch of epic thralls that will spawn with star metal weapons ready to stand longer in a purge alive even if their level is zero.
The best thralls in Siptah for me are coming from surges, but let’s leave this for another day.
In order to gain good taskmaster visit the stygian camp before the Grey pools entrance, it always spawn master taskmasters there, always! Last but not least, temple of the loon is an Accursed camp and you’ll gain many Cimmerian steel armor pieces, free epic armor for your thralls.
Fast reliable weapons.
The Grey ones! Visit the Grey pools, learn the recipes, loot the Grey ones weapons and level up your thralls very fast. Grey camps holds the key to success to almost everything in Siptah. You’ll find a bunch of statuettes in there loot them, they are your “salvation”.
Statuettes for purge casualties!
Use the statuettes that give you tokens of friendship. Then use these fighters archers only the purge day in the front line so your main followers will have less agro on them and wipe easier the purge waves. Trust me, these tokens are for storage and sucrifice reasons, so use this option. On exile lands i was using the worthless pets from my fridges, storage and sucrifice my friend!
Give them clean path to come.
Make sure you’ll build in a way that you’ll allow them to come and your defense will be standing in the correct spots. Take advantage of your building location and build in a way that they will be unable to circle your residence. If you already build and you are open all around then use spikes too, make them die from bleeding.
Build warrior and slay.
Do not expect any of your thralls to do the job better from you. Use your army as a shield and slay them relentlessly. Do not care about the loot either the named npcs, this will work as a trap to disorient you from your goal, which is save your base. So forget looting and clubbing, you are there to save your base and your thralls, nobody else than you can do this. So build a warrior and slay relentlessly!
I hope my words will help. If you loose again however just name your server and i will jump in to help you regroup in no time.

I appreciate the knowledge… going to be out of town this weekend, so it will give me some time away. Then I can come back with a fresh start. I am fortunate to have a big brother guardian exile on my server, and he had helped me out in so many ways, as well as all of you on the forum. Thanks everyone

on siptah there is a small structure you can build called a convergence trap. with it, u can cancel an incoming purge. u can also use it to trigger a purge when u are ready for one. more info: Convergence Trap - Official Conan Exiles Wiki

Yes I plan on finding this as I explore. I can see how the whole Purge thing can be fun, but when you’re ready for it. I was spending time trying to make my camp look nice and not fortified. I’ll be looking forward to the time when you can opt in instead of it just happening.
