Bug Description:
When logging on today, my character/avatar inventory was empty and my character was naked. I was playing last night with no issues, logged off properly with my most recently used gear (armor, weapons, important crafting items, etc.) in my characters inventory. The items in my storage boxes were not affected, but everything on my avatars personal inventory was removed and/or deleted with no reason.
Bug Reproduction:
I do not know. All I did was log-on and after getting access to the server, my character was naked and I do not see anything in my personal avatar inventory. My question is: Is there any record of these items being lost and/or can anything be done to return them? Thank you for your time and assistance.
Check your event log first. It’s available in the menu after you log in.
Secondly, given you’re playing on a conflict server, it’s fairly clear to me what has happened. During conflict hours, players can kill other players, even when you’re logged out. There are various ways to kill and loot players even inside their base, depending on their proximity to outside facing walls and whatnot. And, if you have a bar close to your base, patrons coming and going will open doors and let players right in.
Tips to avoid this in the future:
MOST important and effective is never log out with anything on you. Keep a box next to wherever you log out to dump all your gear. This way no matter what, you can’t lose anything.
Secondly, log out in a central part of your base that is at least two foundation lengths from any outside facing wall.
If you have a bar, keep it a decent distance from your base. Keep all doors to your base “locked for thralls.”
Again, if you log out with nothing on you, the rest doesn’t matter. It’s the best habit to get into.
Thank you for your time and tips. This could explain why it just happened again. I had started putting all my personal gear away after the first time but did not last night (got lazy and/or thought it was fixed), and all my avatar storage gear was gone (or looted as you explained). I will factor in your suggestions if I decided to give this game another time (perhaps if/when the UE5 upgrade comes to PS5). Thank you again for taking the time to explain and take care.
Don’t make some silliness like this take the game from you. I know what it’s like to have the wind taken out of your sails when something goes awry (like my 10 man clan just had buildings completely disappear two days in a row with zero explanation) but we press on!
