Love on Gaia: Undying Love

Undying Love
by BlueMystical, a non-character Agápē story.

In the small coastal town of Kingsmouth, life had always been peaceful and uneventful for the nerdy Howard. He spent his days working at the local library and his evenings tinkering with his various gadgets and inventions.

But everything changed when a strange dark fog swept through the town, turning many of its residents into flesh eating zombies. Howard was one of the lucky ones who managed to avoid being infected, but the same couldn’t be said for the girl he had secretly been in love with for years - Emily.

Emily was a shy and quiet girl who had always kept to herself, but she had caught Howard’s eye from the moment he had laid eyes on her. He had never had the courage to approach her, but now, as a zombie, she was all he could think about.

Despite the danger, Howard couldn’t help but venture out into the town in search of Emily. He knew it was foolish, but he couldn’t bear the thought of her being alone and lost in this new and terrifying world.

It took days of wandering through the streets, avoiding the hordes of undead that roamed the town, but eventually, Howard found Emily. She was a shadow of her former self, her skin pale and her eyes vacant, but he knew that there was still a part of her that was alive and human.

At first, Emily didn’t seem to recognize Howard. She lurched towards him with outstretched arms, moaning incoherently. But as he drew closer, she paused and cocked her head to the side, as if trying to remember something.

Howard took a chance and spoke to her softly, hoping that some part of her still remembered who he was. To his surprise, she seemed to respond to his voice, her eyes flickering with recognition.

Over the next few weeks, Howard and Emily became inseparable. He took her to his hideaway, a small abandoned house on the outskirts of town, where they could be safe from the zombies and the chaos outside.

Despite her condition, Emily was still capable of experiencing emotions, and she and Howard quickly fell in love. They spent their days talking and sharing stories, and Howard was amazed at how much he had underestimated her intelligence and wit.

As time went on, Howard became increasingly determined to find a cure for Emily’s condition. He spent long hours poring over books and scientific journals, trying to find a way to reverse the effects of the Lovecraftian apocalypse.

Despite numerous setbacks, Howard never gave up hope. He knew that Emily was worth fighting for, and he was willing to do whatever it took to save her.

Finally, after months of research and experimentation, Howard discovered a potential cure. It was risky and untested, but he was willing to take the chance if it meant saving Emily.

With Emily’s permission, Howard injected her with the cure, and they both waited anxiously to see if it would work. To their immense relief, Emily began to show signs of improvement. Her skin regained some color, and her eyes grew brighter.

In the end, Howard’s love and determination had paid off. Emily was no longer a zombie, but a living, breathing human being once again. And she and Howard were able to continue their love story, free from the horrors of the Lovecraftian apocalypse that had brought them together.

The end.
