Can we crank the maelstrom back to it former glory. Doesn’t have to be super long like when it first released. The times now are good. The difficulty, mob density, no elder things makes it super pointless and boring.
Added note, Convergence Trap originally was used to collect resources. It was changed to be used for the purge. Since the purge isnt a thing. Can we change that back to its oringal use also.
Let’s do one better. Use the current purge mechanics but instead of human attackers, its the Maelstrom style monsters. You fuel it with ??? and the more you put in, the harder the purge.
I love this idea. I think one of the biggest issues i have with Siptah is that the Maelstrom could be so cool if it had more of a point. Its trivial most of the time and there is no reason for me to go into it beyond just getting caught in it. I would really like to see it returned to its former glory in terms of difficulty. Also I would like to see a reason to have to go into it.
Perhaps the Maelstrom could have a connection to the PVE raid camps added in chapter 4? Siptah is awesome and the updates in chapter 4 are a good step in the right direction for me.
Please bring back a reason for it to be there beyond visual flair. As I see it, a lot of work went into the art and system for it so its a shame its basically defunct now.
Honestly, I find the maelstrom more annoying than cool on PlayStation. The effects of the maelstrom just kinda lag everything sometimes… for no other reason than to blow around leaves, particularly when I’m nowhere near the maelstrom.
In this part… i would like it to last longer, now it’s too little.
Maelstrom could destroy in official servers all the builds in it, but… Smaller circle!
Damn, i thought i was unlucky the last couple times i was in it. Really? No bring back the elders yesterday if possible and rise their appearance. Every pack of 2 minions should come with an elder. Make my life hell in maelstrom, make me avoid it in low levels and enjoy the hell of it in high levels!!!
I am a Playstation user, so i don’t know what you’re talking about here, can you expand please? What kind of resources you were collecting? @Kapoteeni i love your purge suggestion, i am all in with it!!!
What I originally wrote and meant. I have not seen Elder things in the maelstrom. I want more of them.
I dont mind the size of it, and length of it time wise is fine. People had an issue because it was strong and destroyed their bases.
If you have a game mechanic, and you know it destroys bases, summons elite monsters, and lots of weaker ones. Why would you try and build a base in that zone knowing you might have issues. Players didnt not want to deal with this and build else where safer. Mean while hardcore players could and endure the storm.
I would settle for the middle of the argument. Lower the damage monsters can do to bases in the storm. It’s your choices to build there anyways.
There’ve been an interesting mechanics in the very beginning of IoS: You build a Convergence Trap somewhere in the Maelstrom zone and wait for the Maestrom. Lightnings hit your Trap and “produce” some random resources in its inventory - and partially destroy it so you have to repair your Trap (and defend yourself from Maelstrom monsters of course). You could get a ton of valuable resources, or some crap like branches and feathers, or nothing at all if you were killed by monsters, your Trap destroyed by lightnings and lootbag decayed before you could get it.
I have no experience with the old Maelstrom, but I very much enjoy the current iteration on Siptah. I like to bring a couple mid-level thralls with me and fight in the storm until I’m standing on a pile of twisted bodies. Exhilarating…and profitable.
