To keep an alliance going you could have a tribute system that’d be another cool thing to spend resources on 
I agree to make clans smaller, much much smaller, 3 people tribes would be good, atm every exploiter and cheater is joining together forming a so called “alpha” clan abusing the whole normal playerbase to the point where nobody has any fun in this game , chat messages like “leave server you lost” or “this game isn’t for you just go” are rather standard.
Thats why the playerbase is fluctating and stagnating so quickly, the actual “hype” is only from special xx% off sales and the PS4 PSN monthly free game action.
you will see soon CE is “dead” again because of its very bad multiplayer settings and design
