"mechanics jumped killed" players abusing game mechanics error

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Online Official
Server Type: PvP
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: 1986
Mods: =MODS=

Bug Description:

abuse of “game mechanics” which I believe is a bug in the game.

Bug Reproduction:

I didn’t make the bug, but players on the server confirmed that it’s working, I believe it’s an error in the game… the abuse in the game is simply that you jump on top of other players and they die as soon as you jump on them, hit and killed regardless of the armor, now how they achieve this, they put the attribute agility (last passive of 2 jumps in the air) and expertise (not having a weight limit) at the maximum, then they fill their inventory with a lot of weight, as soon as they jump in someone kills instantly. please solve this, it’s ending the fun of pvp.

Not a bug, intentional. There’s even an achievement for it

@Jimbo did Funcom ever state that Goomba stomp was intended or was it aside effect from attributes not wanting to start poo poo would just like know

I seriously doubt that “goomba stomping” was intended as a viable form of PvP. I realize that they did intend for players to get an achievement but I suspect it has turned into an exploit that needs to addressed. Perhaps leaving the achievement in place and adjusting the height requirement so you can still kill a player but not as a viable PvP build.

Agree with you completely. It should be outside of the double jump height that is currently used. The kicker is we don’t play pvp and it still doesn’t seem right to me. Yes we pve-c have yet to be attacked by another player or us then in 4 weeks on a official server. Thank you very much for your answer. @DaVice

They definitely intended for goomba stomp to be a thing. Now they may or may not have intended for it to be widely used in PVP as a viable strategy, but it wouldn’t be the first time something wasn’t “balanced” (blech) for PVP. It’s also true that they know people do it and haven’t eliminated the damage from doing it to another player in all this time. So, not a bug, it is intentional, even if the level of use it gets is unintentional.
