Not sure if this is a bug or a change I made without realizing it. When I first started playing there were names, or titles, above the mobs so I knew what they were. They no longer do. Any ideas?
You mean Thralls or wildlife animals? Thralls have name + title/role, animals/creatures are nameless by design.
