I’m in PvE. I have my work stations out in the open. They are behind a gate and a wall on one side.
For more efficient and/or quicker base loading, should I have these work stations fully enclosed?
Or doesn’t it matter?
Will the game load them even if they are not in sight fully behind walls and ceiling?
Thanks for any info
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed in the past but when you’re exploring and see something loading way off in the distance it tends to be the placeables such as work stations that load first. I’ve seen the entire layout of my enemies bases on PVP by this loading thing.
No expert but I would tend to believe due to that (unless something has changed) that benches load regardless of whether you can see them or not.
So having them enclosed is not really going to make a difference in loading performance.
The only real way to make sure a base loads as quickly as possible in my experience is to have the least amount of placeables possible. Like no decorations, few chests and torches, etc.,…
Someone more versed on this stuff would probably better be able to answer your question though.

It matters. It already has a hack to play with it. It just depends which way the torso and head points. “Occlusion”
Once the static ground renders, it really doesn’t need cleanup (including further compression). That’s one of the optimizations, low-fruit pickings.

Thanks @Kikigirl and @Dzonatas
I have seen stuff loading that way in the past. Not as much lately but also I’m not paying attention
I’ve moved tons of chests from my base and removed other things to try and streamline. Still more work to do.
I have a ps5 but I think the game could do better with more ps5 optimization. But then ps4 users would still have issues
