I’d like to see four things come true with the next age and I’m addressing this proposal directly to the folks at the Conan Exiles team from Funcom.
1st - Game Design of Purges & Purge Pulling
I believe that the game design of the Stygian purges needs to be changed:
If a player or clan provokes a purge, then only the building structures of the purge calling player or clan should be affected as a result - because purge pulling has currently taken over on some official PvE and PvE C servers.
Zendesk, at least based on my experience and after my interactions with affected players, does not seem to respond to the abuse of this exploit or to sanction the players and clans that operate with this kind of abuse.
2nd - Conan Exiles-Overlay for Streamers
I would ask that you support the streamers of Conan Exiles on Twitch and other platforms with a visually appealing and conceptually adapted overlay to the game.
I’m sure that the amount of work required to create an overlay for streamers is relatively low for a game company like Funcom. However, the added value, compared to the amount of work, would be enormous. For example, a few visually appealing areas with links to the official Twitter/X account and this forum here can be implement.
3rd - Higher Monetization of Conan Exiles through two - simple? - Modifications
There’s no question that the makers of my current favorite sandbox game have money to make.
That’s why I propose that a second page be added to the Black Lotus Bazaar with the 3rd age in order to offer more BLB content for sale on a daily basis. The first page should always offer the content of the current age and the second page should offer sales content from previous ages. Implementing this should be fairly easy and would inevitably increase sales - a larger offering automatically reaches more customers.
The second suggestion would probably be harder to implement, but would definitely increase the attractiveness of the official servers while retaining more players for longer:
Please assign an official Siptah server to each official Exiled Land server and enable server transfers by paying Crom Coins.
Does this give players who spend Crom Coins an advantage? Yes.
Does this operate Pay to Win? Yes, it will (strictly speaking).
Does this exclude players and put them at a massive disadvantage if they don’t use this paid service? Not really … If someone thinks that a player or clan has a massive advantage in PvP just because that clan now has a bunch of Gloves of Jhil or a few stronger short swords in the Exiled Lands, I think they have a distorted perception of game-changing factors in PvP in Conan Exiles.
In order not to let the whole thing degenerate into a matter of the availability of real money and at the same time enrich the game with new content - like to complete a fairly difficult new quest in the game beforehand and obtain a powerful item at the end … If you decide to keep the new powerful quest item, you just keep it. If you decide to sacrifice the new and powerful item at the end of the new quest and also pay a sum of X in Crom Coins, the server transfer will be initiated. At the same time, this prevents players from constantly server switching because the possibility of a server transfer would not solely depend on the availability of Crom Coins.
In solo player mode, paying Crom Coins would be obsolete anyway, but would inevitably lead to the existing savegame on the previous map being deleted - and only the equipment on your character’s body and in the inventory and quick slots remaining.
4th - Transparency in Zendesk’s Decisions and Inactions and Publicizing the Character Names and Funcom IDs of “dishonorable” Players and Clans
Please finally start publishing the FuncomIDs, Steam account names, etc. (and of course I DON’T mean the real names) of players and clans that have been proven to have used cheats or repeatedly abuse bugs and exploits on official servers and these could be substantiated by solid evidence.
Unfortunately, I have to report from my own experience that I cannot understand how Zendesk makes its decisions or how decisions are often not made.
A player sexually harass a female player on an official server and it takes over a week for this behaviorally disturbing person to be removed from the server even though this player was reported in a timely manner. A clan on an official PvE C has currently walled up a portal in order to blackmail the affected player into tearing down his portal because they want to use the building land to expand their already huge base and Zendesk submits that the report of the walled-in portal will stay unprocessed in the end. An entire clan has made it their seeming main task to do purge pulling on a official non-PvP server and proudly communicates this in the global chat and Zendesk seems to accept this and so on …
Zendesk makes it clear that it does not justify its decisions. In fact, I can understand that such a policy is adopted to save time, but in the end it makes everything completely opaque and perhaps even promotes a kind of discrimination.
Why? Who knows whether the employee in charge might have a problem with women himself and ultimately find it funny how a woman becomes a victim of sexual discrimination on a public Conan Exiles server. Perhaps a Zendesk employee themselves feel belonging to a certain ethnic or religious group and therefore sympathetic with the cheaters in question - recognizable for the Zendesk employee in question because this is communicated aggressively in their cheaters Steam accounts or on writable signs around their base on server or can be derived from the clan name etc. This is now highly speculative, but ultimately I currently have the impression that based on past experiences with Zendesk or what was brought to my attention by third parties, I simply can’t understand why Zendesk decided or did not decide the way they did. Maybe they’re just overworked or overwhelmed by the number of requests. I don’t know. However, more transparency would definitely provide more clarity.
Those were my wishes. But maybe you have additional points? Just write everything down … By Crom! And so I’m going to step back for a while, hope that there won’t be any massive problems with the introduction of the next chapter, wish Dennis and his team a lot of strength, concentration, good luck and fun at work and all of us happy holidays over current Easter time.
