Everything you said is exactly my experience too. But let’s take it from the beginning.
To this one only i disagree. I was using waraxe and it wasn’t sooo heavy. But when the Lemurian axe became the best craft able, dragonbone weapons was ONLY for thralls!
I totally agree. Except one small period, light armors are my best. Especially when dragon hide armor arrived it’s my main.
To this part only i can explain why i use dragonbone heavy (Siptah) , or redeemed silent legion (exiles) . It’s two reasons!
1st and more important! Lags.
Wearing a dragon bone you have 1800 armor, do no matter how laggy it can be you just don’t die 
. You barely feel the harpy ranged. So in a laggy server it was a good choice. Not to mention that this was an armor to face without fear even the rockslide!
2. Redeemed silent legion was very difficult to have in the past, since it was made only from purge armorers and they were EXTREMELY rare. When we were able to finally fix it without these armorers you could travel from volcano to frost keep without temp issues. Ofcurce i was using it with the executioner hood and i felt no surprise when the black knight armor end up having hood and not this horned helmet.
