My game screen suddenly turned black

I’ve already run into this black screen issue two or three times now. Every time, it just goes black suddenly, and I have to restart my PC countless times before it finally recovers. But this time is different. It’s just stuck on a black screen, and no amount of troubleshooting will get it back to normal.

HOWEVER!! The game is actually running perfectly fine. Please look at the images I’ve attached below:

What this screenshot is trying to show is that even though the game is a black screen, as soon as I press the Windows key to alt-tab to the desktop, the game displays normally in the background. But the moment I click back into the game, it turns completely black again.

I wanted to ask if anyone else has run into this weird issue, and how exactly did you fix it?

While I can offer no expertise, and have not seen this bug yet, I still recommend reporting it, so the dev’s can have a look.

Did your 21VHPWR adapter on your GPU melt? Because what you describe is a common symptom.

Thanks for the advice! I know next to nothing about hardware, but I’ll look into it and see if that’s indeed the case.
