My siptah character gone?

Hi, I only play single player, PC.
I used to have 2 characters, one in Exiled Land and one in Siptah.
I logged in after enhanced update and I can only play character from Exiled land.
Siptah one is gone.
Can some one help me with this please? Thank you

This is because Siptah no longer exists as a standalone map, now the two maps are combined (and you can travel between them with the help of ‘Adherents of the Outer Dark’ that you can meet in various places on the map (basically teleport points).

It would have been a lot easier if you had read the big announcement post and transfered stuff before the update, but as long as you still have copies of your Siptah save, it should be possible to get things back.

The easiest solution - if you have enough drive space - is to have two copies of the game, one on UE5 and also the old one on UE4. To do this temporarily rename the main file folder for your current UE5 install (so it doesn’t get overwritten) and then go to the Versions and Betas tab on steam in game properties and select the UE4/Legacy version. Download that. Then rename the main file folder for that version and select back to the UE5 version in the versions and betas tab, and rename your main (UE5) version file folder back to what it was to start with. Then, when you want to play your Siptah character, go into the file folder for the UE4/Legacy version and directly run ConanSandbox.exe from there.

If you want to only have one copy of the game, you’ll need to do most of the same steps above (but you can install the UE4 over the UE5 so no need to worry about renaming folders - just make sure you backup all your save files). Then, once you’re back to having UE4/Legacy installed, run your Siptah save and you’ll need to use the Transfer system to transfer your Siptah character to the Exiled Lands (you’ll need to load anything you want to keep into their inventory and the inventories of all their followers - you can take all your followers, but you mustn’t be over-encumbered. When they get to the other end, you’ll need to place down a foundation and then you’ll be able to start placing followers from the followers tab). Once you’ve got the character into the transfer system, then you’ll need to reinstall CEE over the top of the Legacy install. In theory you should then be able to start a second character save (you’ll have probably noticed we can now have up to three characters in singleplayer) and transfer the Siptah character into that save. There are three problems with this - 1) I don’t know anyone that’s actually done this (I just ditched my old save games and started fresh), 2) there are reports of problems with the transfer system losing characters on servers (but at least you’d still have backups so could keep trying the process until it works) and 3) the transfer system has been switched off and we don’t know when it will come back.

If these two options sound like a lot of hassle, that’s because they probably are. I found it much easier just to start fresh, which would be my recommendation. If you really can’t bear to part with your Siptah save, then I’d recommend the first approach as the better one (because a) it will work, and b) it will not require dismantling everything you’ve built on Siptah), but it will require having enough drive space for both versions.

Hello, Thanks for the help.

I tried it but here is the part I don’t understand yet.
currently I have 2 legacy save files.

One is [Game.db], which is Exlied Land character.
And other is [dlc_siptah.db], which is Siptah character.

When I transfer siptah character to exiled land, it seems [dlc_siptah.db] is overwriting [game.db].
So I cannot play original Exiled land character.

are there anyway I can use both characters?

I had the same problem except only my Siptah character showed up when they automatically transferred it from the Siptah server to the Exiled Lands server where I had another character. The E.L. character is just gone. I suspect the Siptah one overwrote it and I stupidly deleted the Siptah character thinking it would allow my original Exiled Lands character to spawn in. Nope! Now I’ve lost both. Funcom really screwed the pooch on this one!

In theory it should be possible - because in singleplayer we can now have up to 3 characters. I don’t know exactly how it will work, but if you’ve got to the point where you can have your siptah character successfully transferred to UE5 Exiled Lands, then I have an idea for something that might work (obviously keep backups of everything as always).

Okay, I just booted up my game and used the second character slot to start a fresh character, it looks like this should work -
Get your Siptah save successfully transferred across - let it overwrite the Exiled Lands save - make sure it’s there and working in CEE. Then exit the save to main menu.
Select Singleplayer game again, and this time select the second box ‘New Adventure’ - start an entirely new character, skip through character creation, just get into the world far enough to take your first steps. Then exit again.
Open up your save folder - among the various files in there you should now have ‘game_0.db’ and ‘game_1.db’. If you’ve done it in the order I suggested, then your Siptah save will be game_0, and the new character will be game_1. Then take your original Exiled Lands backup (game.db) rename it game_1.db and use it to replace that file with the new character. You should now have both of them.

Let me know if that works

It worked! Thank you so much!

That’s great. Thanks for confirming that. This way, if other people get stuck in the same situation, we now have a blueprint to help them  .
