I’m having problems playing co-op with a friend on x-box. I set up a co-op server from the main menu of the game, and I invite him to join the same game, and all seemed well. The problem is we can’t build together, he can’t put down a bed because it vanishes, he can access my boxes (which say ‘Open’ in green), but he can’t open the door (which doesn’t say open). I’ve tried creating a clan, but on his screen, it just shows ‘Create a clan’ even after I’ve created one. There is no way for him to join the clan.
I’ve seen posts about renting a server for Xbox, which is fine, but I don’t understand why the game seems to let me set up a co-op server, and invite another person to the game, but they continue to have those problems. Do they have to sign into the game in a different way to get on the server?
Any help is appreciated.
I had this problem on PC but a guild invite solved it.
What do you mean your friend has no way joining your clan? You should have that option from the interactive menu?
I had seen someone say that starting a guild and having the 2nd player join would solve it. So I started a clan. I figured they would be able to join it but when they look at the ‘clan’ tab it just says to create a clan press Y. There is nothing there to join a clan.

Actually I just noticed you used the term ‘Guild invite’. I didn’t see anywhere to invite a person to the clan. Maybe that’s it?
Yep that was it. I figured so once I realized you mentioned having to invite, so I goggled it and figured it out.
