So we have magic … this is wonderful … But i think we lack some kind of fast cast spells for combat … something to be worthy opponent for weapon users.
I don’t know about the fast casting, but a lasting effect that enhances the staff for combat use in some way. Drain life, knockback, burn, etcetera. Could also add protective fields like Grave Matters introduced to the Skelos Cultists.
Though those casters were stationary would that be translated as well ?
I personally fling zombies at enemies.
Agree - a fireball would be nice. Stay calm and cast fireball
A magic missile or something. I love sorcery but something to fling at enemies would be nice
I was thinking two versions. One could be, the other would be more of a dampening field. So, you can have one that makes you completely immune but can’t move, while your party and other creatures take care of the problems. And then have a lesser field that just adds a damage reduction.
For your fireballs.

For fast casting it could have multiple elemental staffs, with buttons toggled to cast spells with cast and fast with the staff element.

This isn’t D&D fireball slinging. Never will be.
Sorcery in the Hyborian age is costly, and carefully prepared in advance. Impromptu flinging element blasts at people goes against everything it stands for.
I want some combat via staff equipped (now sorcerer just defenseless)
BUT - this must be NOT any kind of skyrim magic… im sorry guys
What we should have:
- some pushback short range AOE attack via staff (special attack button) (low dmg but pushing back attackers\ knocking small ones), maybe sand\dirt\snow depends on terrain
- probably some spells you cast before battle so you deal some damage while staff equipped, using staff to aim
- protective bubble spell - so you can withstand first attacks before change to melee or flee…
offensive sorcery MUST be not any near PVP\PVE meta, but we need SOMETHING to fill the gap between sorcery stance and melee stance
One of the first spells you get in age of conan is literally shooting flames out of your hand…
This is not age of conan. It doesn’t have to tryhard being a wow clone, it can be more accurate to the source material.
Would be cool if sorceress would have to gather materials for spells to cast
example :
Blood offence magic = demon blood + corruption + your own HP.
Necromancer offence magic = soul essence + corruption + dark blood.
and so on …
(different type of magic request different materials)…
Players would have to gather/craft materials to cast offence spells.

There is a lot from Age of Conan in Conan Exiles. Spend countless hours on listening to the jungle soundtrack(Only a poor example). 2 separate games, but with a lot in commune… Sorcery now being one of them.
And no. Pls no fireballs/frostbolts or any instant cast spells. We have enough fire/frost/elemental damage as it is now. And above that, the way Funcom went with Sorcery…to much time to cast a spell like fireball to even make it worth…hell, i would probably be dead before reaching 2nd stone…
As a PvE player, i find rather boring the spells we have now(Apart of Nergal), almost unable to practice it as a solo PvP player and bountiful for group PvP. PvP and Sorcery is now complicated, i guess Funcom will be gathering more feedback from PvP community and changes/additions will be made to some of the spells.
Instead of new spells, some work on AI to improve its current state? You thought about this? As Sorcery, a better AI has been for a long time on Funcom’s table.
