Need pause for single player

I’m sure the game is designed not to have a pause for single player. However when my remote randomly dies, the last known button or Direction is left on and my character freaks out running in circles. This is an issue in the middle of a battle. I am quickly killed and the spawn select runs through all options and when time runs out it selects the one it is on. This has happened a few times now and one time I had to start all over. This time I spawned in the desert from being killed near the mountains which my base is north.

I would love a single player pause option. I’m not really a barbarian… I’m really someone playing a game in my home. When the phone rings, or someone is at the door, or a hundred other things (and if I’m not playing online with other people) I don’t see the harm in pausing a game and dealing with the real world for a moment without messing up my character.
