New admin please let us have a propper site for discussions ! Is it truew Steam was shut down in order to control the players

I have heard that there is new admin in charge here ??? Does this mean that players complaining will no longer simply be told to shut up or get banned ??? I stopped looking on these pages many months ago after seeing so many people that had something to say simply getting banned ??? I am going to have a little look around now and try Siptah , but i am disappointed to have to lose my character in order to paly Siptah ??? IS Siptah a seperate game ??? If so why must we lose exiles ??? Is Siptah an expansion ?? If so why can we not enter Siptah with our Exiles character ?? Currently this feels like the devs are simply trying to save money by shutting down servers , I do hope the new devs can < if true > sort out the most annoying bugs ! …

There are server transfers now, you can move a character to Siptah with as much as you can carry without being encumbered.

You just have to stay in the same type of server eg Official to Official, PVP to PVP or PVE to PVE
Private to Private. etc.

Clearly you never actually looked here at all then. This has NEVER been the case on these forums…

Welcome back to the forums.

People who have been banned have (usually) broken the rules of conduct far beyond merely criticizing Funcom or their game. Usually this has included excessively hostile or toxic behavior towards their fellow forum-users. I’ve been around for a long time, and as far as I’ve seen, simply disliking an aspect of the game has not resulted in arbitrary bans.

At other times, people have been banned for posting things that are against the rules, such as information on how to abuse bugs or otherwise cheat the system.

You can play both on Siptah and on Exiled Lands, and you can now transfer a character between those two if you want. (In rare cases, a character has been stuck in transit, so it seems server transfering isn’t entirely free of risk. EDIT: As of Patch 2.8.1, at least some of these problems have been fixed.))

So, it seems you returned at an opportune moment. Your fears are unfounded.

Ironically, Funcom is one of the more lenient companies when it comes to ingame and forum enforcement. If you look at SquareEnix’s policies and how they enforce them. For example telling someone that they should try playing a certain way (even as a suggestion) would be considered too aggressive. That could get you actioned in both ingame and in their forums.

If Funcom did that, there would literally be nothing on these forums. But FFXIV is like 5 million people, SE can get away with being that draconian.

The majority of complaints is from enforcement going from 0 to a 5 in game. Its moderate enforcement at best. But 0-5 is still jarring. But they’re no where near the 11 some other companies are.
