Bug Description:
Building Collision
Bug Reproduction:
Cannot walk through new Bazzar Pictish Frame when built on ceiling peices. Tested with different Ceiling peice from different sets. Pictish frame on ceiling peice results in Character unable to walk through the frame. Frame works on foundations. When placed on foundation can walk through. When placed on Ceiling peice Character has to duck to go through. Thralls will not route through frame when on built on cieling piece.
Just gave this a quick test myself with Pictish ceilings, foundations & Pictish frames.
I can comfortably walk through the frames with my usual character preset (Pippi height slider in the middle, vanilla values). However, with the height slider set to max, I can’t walk through frames on ceilings or on foundations.
Well i live in a house which was build ~270 years ago. No doorway is build for my height, and some of them i’m pretty sure weren’t even for the average height of the people back then . I use the crouch button all the time…
No, it is a dramatic illustration of character proportions being inaccurately scaled to the environment the game was based upon. Character height at max setting in this game is about 7 feet tall (2.1336m).
An industry standard door measures 2.1336m in height. The character collision box provides the inhibiting factor in trying to pass through doorways.
Foundations are 2.56m x 2.56m x 2.56m (allowing for any overlap).
When placing a frame or wall on a ceiling piece, part of that wall overlaps at the piece it is placed upon. This is why you don’t see gaps between floor levels. This reduces the available height of a max height avatar to pass through. The actual door height is reduced by half the thickness of a ceiling piece. This is the same overlap that will occur when placing frames or walls on foundations, effectively reducing the max height of the piece attached to it.
I bought this set but not yet tested, good to know and hope funcom quick fix this when back from holidays that started in december and end in end of january
Having to duck to go through doors with a max height character (depending on how the structure is built) has been around for years, hence why I informed OP to use the Orb of Nergal to readjust their height.
