Welcome to the game. I hope you like it here.

Yes, exploration is huge in this game. Particularly Exiled lands, imo. And there are a MASSIVE amount of information that you have to either learn yourself the hard way or utilize the internet. I liked it back in the day when the game didn’t even tell new players how to craft steel… (it was truly “riddle of steel”. Get it?
) It took me literal years to learn some of the stuff I know now. This game doesn’t really hold your hand (even if it has been getting easier all the time)

All DLC are cosmetic, or have very minor new additions (such as Siptah allowing you to ride rhinos).

Yes. There are a lot of lore hidden in notes, letters, books and other items. Also talking to some non-aggressive NPCs. Theres even a talking magical staff

Main difference between singleplayer and multiplayer is time management. In singleplayer time only moves forward when you are actually playing, whereas in multiplayer server time moves forward independently whether or not you are online. There are some events and respawns that are time-restricted. Most importantly the meteor shower that allows you to get star metal. Getting time-restricted stuff like that to spawn in singleplayer might take far longer than it would in multiplayer because of how time works. And of course singleplayer has the admin mode which takes the fun out of the game imo.
