I didn’t even consider the issue of pay for renting a third-party server; this is another argument in favor of a home computer.
There is an opinion that private servers do not glitch like official ones. It is probably generally true. But I watched a lot of streams and videos filmed on private servers, and everywhere there were certain lags that somehow spoiled the impression and were sometimes specifically specified by the streamer. Glory to the Almighty, I did not observe anything like this on my home machine.
Well, for me personally, it is extremely important to feel independent from third-party resources, from their mode of operation, from the willfulness of administrators - everything that limits the freedom of the player. Ultimately, lose your entire game if the server closes or crashes.
Taking all this into account, I formulated my opinion: for a single player, third-party servers are evil.
I apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings.
