You are almost right. The thing you’re missing is the difference between toxic and smack talk.
People can be overly sensitive and need to toughen up. However their is still a threshold were the things being said and/or done is simply unacceptable. “Get wrecked son” is okay but Screaming “Who’s the
now?”, with such force that your tonsils regrow just so they can burst, is toxic. That is a tame example compared to the things people have reported in Conan PvP official servers.
Turning off chat and muting voices might spare you needing to hear it but it’s still being said. That person is still toxic. The sentiment is still there. Getting so accustom to hearing it that you don’t recognize it’s happening isn’t a good thing. It makes you blind to the toxicity around you and even worse to the toxicity you might be giving off unknowingly. Hence me bringing up that thread about a guy being confused as to why he got ban for smacktalk. It wasn’t smack it was nuclear waist.
