dennis mentioned in the stream that they do things for a good reason… but he didn’t give us any reason in case of the god bubble… maybe there’s a reason… but since it doesn’t seem to be an obvious reason (I’m intentionally ignoring the various conspiracy theories about it), a hint as to why the god bubble is being removed would have been very helpful…
funcom’s way of communicating is getting worse and worse…
maybe with chapter 3 there is a much better solution for the problem that you currently solve with the god bubble… but why not say that then? and if so, why not remove the god bubble only when the new solution is integrated?
that’s just as pointless as the pet nerf a few months ago with the announced balance pass… which hasn’t happened until today…
we currently have an update cycle of 3 months. it just doesn’t make sense to rebuild something in a chapter in order to then replace it with something else in another chapter… worst case you torment the community for 3 months with a half-finished system…
I am well aware that some changes may simply need more time and do not fit well into the 3-month cycle. but then i have to ask myself whether my ambitions are too high or my time frame is too tight. letting the community run 3 months against a wall is by far the worst solution for such changes… it probably makes more sense sometimes to turn down the ambitions… or to find another solution that fits the time frame… or simply explain what the final plan is and that the current step is only an interim solution. although that wouldn’t help with the god bubble either… 3 months without a real chance to defend is a problem either way…
no matter how good the end result may be, it doesn’t help anyone if players have quit by then because they didn’t want to run into a wall for 3 months… even if the end result is great, not all players will come back… yes I don’t have any reliable figures on this either… but I’ll just assume it’s me. there are so many games and new ones are added every day… as long as i keep finding something new, there is no reason for me to look back.
