This is from their FAQ in discord:

There are 8 human tribes on the Savage Wilds map (not counting the unthrallable Hyperboreans), which is the same amount as the Exiled Lands.

We have 95% of the wildlife from Exiled Lands and in addition a fair amount of the Wildlife from Siptah, so variety-wise Savage Wilds has much more variety than either one of the FC maps.

However - it’s absolutely true that Savage Wilds is less densely populated than Exiled Lands - this is on purpose. It’s much easier for admins to put extra population into the map than to remove it.

With that said, there is an admin command, datacmd SWadmintoggles that will open a menu, and within there is a setting for Population Adjustment. Turning that up will fill in the empty spots with NPCs, wildlife, and so forth.

Usually admins turn it off so that people can more freely move around without getting accosted by everything. Just depends on how much focus on survival you want. The map by default assumes a community focused on building, but gives some great tools for others as well.

Truth be told… EL and Siptah definitely could use similar settings IMO.

Pretty much this… especially considering FC is going to be adding features to Siptah (according to the latest devstream) at some point in the future. Despite there not really being a population to support it. They like the map better than most of the playerbase :man_shrugging:

Oh oooohh! New biomes, I must check it :scream:
It’s ok if there’s no snow, something different is worth a try

On Siptah, the dungeons felt easier to deal as a solo player than on the Exiled Lands, but the monsters were so ugly, urgh. I have a hard time dealing with their appearance.
While in the Exiled Lands, the bosses look softer, I prefer it.

That’s the old version, the Death Dealer. The new one is the Phantom Warrior, the mascot of my old battalion and III Corps:

Dang. It looks like wood, so pretty. I want the same at home :scream:

Fort Hood TX. Frank Jr got sued for it by his father iirc

Never had the pleasure :sob:. My purge history goes like this…
My first build was close to Arnos prospect, my first purge Accursed even if i was still tier 1 brand new flotsam. Then i moved close to the center of the map, near the bears behind the goblin vault. I wanted to be im the Maelstrom with the hope I’ll get something big. I made a cathedral base with storm glass pieces, yet again… Accursed .
I jump in another server and i build under new Luxor, Accursed.
I start in Another server and build over Siphos… Accursed.
My old pvp mates start Siptah, we build in 3 different places of the map, Accursed.
I play with @MarcosC and Kyle in 2 different server, we build in 2 different places of the map, Accursed.
I play with @Wonka, he builds north east to the exile camp river, Accursed.
I cannot name how many sessions i joined. How many people i helped on purges… Accursed .
All these purges never came with dragons :sob::sob::sob:.
My best ever purges was…
Siptah wyrms bane @sestus2009 changed the level of purges to 3, they were not weak just different :man_shrugging:.
I had a demon bat purge and a stygian and it was freaking awesome .
Then on official server i did thus challenge…

In this challenge i finally had a lizard purge, no matter how idiotic that sounds, having a purge like it in Siptah was awesome.

I am unlucky, i know. But rng in purges was really unfair, people may played literally thousands hours in Siptah, build anywhere in the map and never experienced other purges . That’s another reason i was happy for the new purge system, no surprises totally controlled.

Ey i don’t know why this reply went to you, i am sorry but not so, it’s a pleasure always to have you in my conversations, you are a fantastic member

This is only partially true. From the Savage Wilds discord:

Admin toggle does not affect NPC camps at all. It only increases animal spawns.

Right, but it has more camps in it than Exiled Lands does. And can get quite large.

What’s weird is the discord says they have 8 tribes that are thrallable but they actually have 9 (not counting Hyperboreans). I think one was added after that message though.

Yeah, I just didn’t want people getting the wrong idea that more NPC camps/NPCs would be added. It’s just animals. We turned this on when we were playing Savage Wilds but it wasn’t quite what we were looking for. I think when people say that SW feels empty compared to EL, it’s because in EL camps, small or large, are fairly close together. There aren’t many places, short of the snow, where you can travel for long without running into NPC camps. I get why the Wild Cypher team did what they did, but I also completely understand where others are coming from, especially if they play on a server that doesn’t have an admin actively developing some of that empty space, or play single player.

And yes, I do think maybe the Crimson Tide was the faction that was added (since I think they are specific to the Atoll which was added later).

I’m a bit surprised people are complaining about the distance mentioned. One the selling points for Isle of Siptah was the amount of building space offered. Savage Wilds kind of took that and ran with it.

When you have a decent population in a server’s community you definitely want that amount of space. And even for Singleplayers not on a server this is preferred so that there is options. Which to be honest I think is where most Siptah players are.

Oh dear… you truly had no luck then with your surges :<
But if you played on PvP, it’s harder than on the PvE and PvE-C I was playing on.
I don’t think we had demon bat surges when I played on Siptah. It was at the beginning, I can only remember the humans, wolves… The dragons and ugly creatures were spawning in the Maelstrom from what I can remember. We would level up our thralls during the Maelstrom. We litterally used to place, what felt like “armies” of thralls in the Maelstrom, for a better chance at survival. The main body of that army would take the aggro, and we would move around with one weak passive following thrall, mixing in the fight lol. Sometimes, you’d kill your neighbours by accident, when we were too close to protect each others lol. My death rate was so high coz I’m a noob at fighting, but that was so much fun x)

I don’t know either why that answer went to me, but I’m fine with it, bring it on! xD
