Since the last update servers are unreachable because of very high ping numbers, I will soon loose my bases, thralls and pets. How come that servers with great ping values now show these incredibly high values? What more, besides an excellent internet connection and high end Omen gaming pc, can I do to lower these numbers?
The Refresh button is more readily available, now. That has allowed me to get acceptable pings to join.
Are you sure that you updated? Your screenshot is missing the “refresh ping” button.
Since the latest patch two official servers that I play on had been showing 1k plus ping at all times while several others were normal. No amount of refreshing or logging out and back in would change it.
What seems to have finally fixed it was selecting Favorites from the drop down menu then refreshing it. Both servers immediately went to normal ping times and I can log in to them with no problems. As a bonus it continues to work even after changing the drop down selection back to Internet.
We’ll see if it still works tomorrow and your mileage may vary of course.
It seems the game is not using the game.ini file where the favorited servers and last connected entries are stored. I backed up the file then deleted the info from those sections and closed the file. Started CE, logged into one of my favorited servers, exited, waited for CE to stop running then opened the game.ini file again to find that those sections were still completely blank. Though it’s undeniably saving my favorites somewhere.
I may poke at it more later but gotta do the sleep thing now.
In another thread someone said to change the Connectivity from “Internet” and in the drop down menu choose “Favorites”. Once I did that the ping values were below 300 allowing me to connect to my favorite servers.
you could try a direct connect to the server. You can easily find the instructions on the internet. It is finding the IP and port and using that information in the direct link rather than clicking on the official server. Used it for the first time today after ping was over 700 with two players on. Got in directly.
