Obviously, Conan Exiles is NOT being Ignored or Abandoned, Because, Bazaar

Welcome to March, 2026.

Since the extremely underwhelming December 2025 update that focused on, checks notes, not really fixing any of the major issues in the game as we were told they would do. Instead, it threw at us several meh adds to the game and added the annoying step of having to screw around with a broken inventory system even more, while crafting.

We are now a month and a half past holiday timer reset, with zero explanation, communication, or hint.

Can the folks who insisted there have been “major fixes” in the game in the last year list them?

Because the only “major” item I have seen partially addressed was that Freya’s quest was no longer as broken as it used to be.

But, at least we got another SNAFU with Crom Coin sales and autobans for people who bought them and tried to spend them. Also, new Bazaar items.

Obviously, this game is under active management, right?

I really wish I could point these out. Some fixes for certain modes had potentially addressed some glaring stability problems but crept back in, in other ways.

Has there been a large amount, even? As much as I like to quote that the March 2025 included 160 some entries, which we can conclude are things they actively worked on, I really didn’t move much to the Solved list. Again, as above, a bunch have crept back in. Or were not the ones that were most concerning.

It’s hard to determine the most significant issues if you ask the player community as its so different for everyone.

Game wide problems that affect every player are not measured the same and in some realms are still utilized while living with those issues because they have ways to deal with it. I.e.; LS on SP via admin mode or mods.

I’ve limited my time in reviewing the Bugs & Issues list to 1 month intervals. I added so much in the last review after having reinstalled the game and hard testing, and moved back over some that were in Resolved. Some of the stuff that was claimed to be “fixed”, isn’t.

I’m waiting patiently regarding an inquiry on how to report bugs; in the meantime I have an entire list. I’ve also touted the importance in reporting bugs but this is labour that we volunteer. For a thorough report we’re talking investigation, reproduction, filming, uploading, writing and editing to ensure the information is correct and can be understood. It’s a-freaking-lot and I can’t justify repetition to this degree for 20+ observations if my time will not be respected. I don’t need a damn trophy, just something to tell me that the information is received and is being considered. Both in triage AND in actively addressing it.

It is nice to see those things I have reported in the past eventually addressed. I will say that. But it shouldn’t take 6 months. Definitely not years in some cases. It normally takes 1 year for serious stability exploits to be addressed - two of which I have personally reported along with many invested, dedicated players. We’re now going into TWO YEARS since the inventory problems came with the April 2024 update.

I would say that the communication and action of FC is the worst it has ever been. How could they think that remaining silent on the entirety of multiplayer on XBOX being inaccessible for days was appropriate? It wasn’t just Officials it was private servers too! No one knew what was going on, why or how long it would go on for. Rumours of GPortal migration onto new systems were talked about. But nothing CONCRETE, no announcement, no reassurances or time frame. This is not ok.

While I cannot say that I know anything about how their system works for BLB, I have assumed, and anyone can please correct me if I am wrong, is still possibly automated to a degree. Like their social media. Like their auto replies in Helpshift. Like the “fixed” rules in automation on the forum too.

Automation is wonderful when used in effective, ROI, ways. But not as a replacement babysitter.

Hopefully they fill that CM position and have a plan to integrate the actual job description and not poach their time for other projects… despite that being the call of Tencent.

They fixed the bug where they had broken periods of inactive communication. It has not been fixed to a stable state of no communication whatsoever.

Your dedication to providing relevant and respectful feedback and bug reporting is very much appreciated.

I could not do it and I respect it greatly.

The Funcom approach to this game, since they added Sorcery, has been deeply flawed. Age of War introduced the respawn lag issue which has never been addressed. Age of Heroes was so bad it was never finished.

Age of Bug fixes, didn’t.

When I look at a game like Empyrion, similar age, but a small, dedicated studio actively interacting with their community and constantly improving the game, I know it is not unreasonable to expect Funcom to actually communicate with the user base.

I don’t want them to have conversation, just give us a monthly announcement of what’s going on.

But, even that, is viewed as too much.

I’ve shut down one of my servers and have the other scheduled to not auto-renew. I’ll do my week long playthroughs on public, but this game has removed so much joy that it has become a chore to play long term.

Ah yes, holiday decay timers…well, since Easter is comming, they may leave them as they are.

The timers being left on 2x since dec and no communication on this issue is a clear sign the game is on life support. The bazzar just means someone is still making some money on the side.

Yes. They now render both sides of a wall. Previously, the rendering was only the side facing you so the wall would be paper thin, allowing you to get the camera to clip through and ‘see’ inside an enemy base. Now, they render both sides which makes the wall thicker and more difficult to clip the camera through. Also, the bottom of the map-room is being rendered as a solid surface. No more placing map-rooms on top of trebuchet towers and shooting through them. These are big changes on PVP servers.

However, as big of a deal the changes are, they are miniscule in the wake of the colossal issues currently existing on official servers. Those being immortal golems and bartenders, intentional server crashes and under-mesh bases. As long as these huge problems continue, it won’t matter what five year old issues they fix, players will continue to believe they’ve given up on the game. Heck, it took 41 days for them to find my crom coins, so yeah, I don’t have much faith in them either.

You could even say we are at least one major update short since Living Settlement is disabled on officials for a good reason. In it’s current state it can hardly be considered a delivered feature.

Thanks for your kind words.

There are many positive examples in the gaming industry for them to emulate.

Exactly, I don’t want to be their best friend and I also don’t want them to waste their time. Meaningful announcements about what improvements are being made, what is on the horizon, hell, even the eye rolling slice of life stuff in the studio would be great. Maybe care about the problems players have to the degree that they warn, announce and advise? Bare minimum.

I’m sorry to hear about the servers.

the worst part is that the more Bazaar items you buy the worse the game will run. it’s moronic.

But… but.. they taught them how to dodge!

And after a while it became my (newest) most hated thing in CE. Quite an accomplishment

After a while, I actually like the NPC dodging. It adds to the challenge in combat. It’s a bit annoying that NPCs - especially thralls - seem to have little idea of when to dodge. Sometimes, my thralls dodge when they on a winning streak, thereby breaking their own advantage. But hey, humans do dumb sh… too, so that’s life.

I find it weird that skeletons dodge, though. They move like stiff undead most of the time, but suddenly dodge like a 18 year old gymnast.

On a greater scale… well, the game is still fun (because of mods), but the large bug fixing initiative seems to have little effect so far. As a single player PvE player, though, I have to say that I can live with the current quality. Some stuff is very annoying, esp. thralls and knocked out NPCs falling through the floor, but in single player, you can find them via admin/ghost mode. For multiplayer, though, that’d be game breaking for me at least, and should be fixed if at all possible or adressed otherwise, e. g. by improving the “Rescue thrall” mechanic.

Compared to Cyberpunk at launch, Skyrim without community fixes and other AAA titles, Conan Exiles is not that bad. The overall quality of the industry is lackluster and has to be improved, but that’s not a Funcom/Conan Exiles exclusive issue.

My disagreement is not that all games have bugs, my disagreement is that these bugs for Conan are self inflicted from truly stupid ideas that broke working systems or bugs that have been reintroduced after being fixed.

The inventory system did not need to be redone, now it is a complete and utter mess. Climbing is still an issue, after being fixed and rebroken 3+ times. Thralls falling through the earth, as you mentioned. Bodies derendering when you turn away, combat being deliberately nudged so that player hitboxes are increased and NPC hitboxes are reduced. Stamina screwed around with for years and then returned to standard, but all stamina costs are the same as they were when there was no stamina debt.

And these are just a few of the issues that have been introduced into a previously working game through deliberate and poorly tested efforts.

I still play the game, but it’s a shadow of what it used to be and much of the joy that has kept me is gone.

I agree. I had just wanted to add the thought that quality standards are lackluster all across the industry, and that the game is working overall. It’s still true that they should strive for more, though.

That’s true. The shoot-your-own-knee-strategy Funcom follows is annoying. Don’t fix what isn’t broken, don’t add before your repair what’s already there.

For marketing purposes (and making your job less boring), some new stuff may be included, but the priorities haven’t been good over the last years.

For example, the living settlements systems is a good idea, but very, very complex. Even though such stuff is right up my alley - solo base building and decorating player - I have that system disabled, as it only creates chaos. I was surprised how much stress it relieved to disable the system after having it on for months. Suddenly, you don’t have to look for missing crafters all around the base, and don’t get blocked by hordes of thralls that all suddenly want to sleep in your bed.

Before such complex undertakings are even thought about, they should focus on stuff that’s either easy or game-breaking for some players.

I log in just to see how long it’ll run until it crashes. And for an added bonus – after it does crash - I can’t wait to see what I’ve lost when logging back in! I thought that’s what the game was?
