This gives some ideas of being able to injure my self and corrupt others on distance, @Ard_Galen has a better vision of what conan magic should look like, and i would stick with it and his vision, seems pretty accurate for me the mix between magic and science

Move Perk 2 to Perk 1.
New 2nd Perk (Sorcerous Grace): You now jump twice as high, dodge twice as fast, and all fall damage is reduced by 75%

dodging being the arguably most effective way to defend yourself from most incoming attacks combined with even faster dodging would make AGI builds way too strong, even 10% faster would be pretty strong. just give a free dodge every 10 seconds without stamina costs and you’re golden.
same for fall damage, doesn’t sound like that big a deal but 75% is a really big number, even 50% would be enough to justify its own perk.
jumping twice as high is already basically in the game in the form of the double jump perk from AGI, though everybody has to decide on their own if its worth it to not take the roll-poke for that.

that being said i think we’re losing the topic here and spitballing about new corrupted perks is fun but probably deserves its own post?

well as offensive magic i would like to be able to summon some small venomous snakes, maybe 5 would be enough for them to chase my enemies or at least slow them down a bit.

one of the more conan-friendly dnd spells, imo. could be fun, though i doubt with the cast times you have as a sorcerer you’ll get much “chasing down” done any time soon =D
would make more sense as a religious spell that you can only learn as a follower of set, though.

Not exactly snake-related, but it brought into my mind another magical battle from Howard’s Conan stories: the battle over the Heart of Ahriman between Khitan mystics and Setite priests in Stygia in the Hour of the Dragon. The Khitans had staves whose touch would kill a man, as well as inhuman resilience, whereas the Setites fought with knives. Only the Setite high priest Thutothmes used magic, the touch of his open hand could kill even the Khitans. Thutothmes also took several hits from a Khitan kill-stick before dying. (I guess he just had a lot of hitpoints, being a named boss NPC.)

Also, in Red Nails, there’s a wand that shoots lightning bolts - but only at metal objects, such as candlesticks, doorframes, etc. This might be kinda unwieldy in the game - although the beams in the Witch Queen’s palace have a similar feel and are possibly inspired by Tolkemec’s magic stick.

Now that I think of it… didn’t Natohk/Thugra-Khotan use this exact spell in the final scene of the Black Colossus? Or rather, it was just the one stick, but anyway. Maybe it was a lower-level version of the spell, because Thugra-Khotan was weakened by, you know, being basically dead for 3000 years and Conan so inconsiderately interrupted him before he could complete the ritual to restore his power.

he did. until he discovered that throwing swords does way more damage than throwing snakes. somebody had to tell him, otherwise the poor guy would have seriously embarassed himself.

double daggers, dual axes, whirlwind blades (okay those are technically axes but go on dex rather than str in 3.0).
what i’m saying is there IS a variety of dual weapons in the game, and there is technically a system that turns single axes into dual axes when you add a throwing axe. doesn’t hurt to have more, just figured if you didn’t know about any of those this may keep you interested for a couple of minutes.

Well now its live and its interesting. I have barely started learning sorcery, but at least hte minion changes are interesting.

As in, minions do half damage unless you have the new authority stat to boost them. I think its cool if my character can be more of a commander type, who can be physically weaker in return. Thats what Im going for atm, a physically weaker sorcerer who commands a horde of minions!

Well cool thing is 20 lvl of Vitality when you finally got some offensive sorcery…
damaging anyone around who attacks you, but, 50% cut for stamina and HP to much anyways for that
