Offline Mode should allow us to play on our own dedicated servers

Ok, I just bought the game 2 days ago and so far this has been a horrid experience. First, we couldn’t connect to our dedicated server because the server browser is broken and always fails to connect. The only way we can join is by Direct Connection. It took me more than an hour of searching to figure this out.
Today, my wife and I are trying to play on our OWN dedicated server, and we can’t because Funcom is down and can’t log in. We’re not playing the game online and NEVER will. We play on our own server and that’s it. The fact that we can’t even direct connect to our own LAN sever is garbage. You guys need to change this or I will never buy a Funcom game again for as long as I live!

Let us play the game the way we want!

Today is really driving home how correct this sentiment really is.

I can understand not being able to connect to an official server today, but any other scenario should work. There’s no reason to be unable to connect to our own private servers. It’s egg on Funcom’s face. No two ways about that. Use our frustration to convince whatever money-minded suit it was that pushed for this nonsense tight coupling that his idea was objectively bad.

Tell me about it! Imagine buying a Norco bicycle and then someone telling you that you can’t ride it because we’re unable to log you into the Norco servers. This is the worst kind of totalitarian infastructure in games!

My friend and I can’t play on my private server because Funcom’s servers are down! They need to remove this requirement. It’s ridiculous.

Agree, it is incredibly frustrating.
