Ok I haven’t played in almost 2 years, but i downloaded it on my PS4 and was exited when I realized I could have a pet and thrall follow me at the same time with new updates, and then 2 and 2 if I chose the right perk on authority stat. But I’m now playing on my Xbox s online and I can only have 1 or the other a pet or thrall why!!
1st…welcome to the forums.
OK so lets go over what you have missed over the last 2 years. The biggest is the complete revising of the player character. Not just about attributes changing but the design of the character is the lead and the thrall is the lesser to the character. So when you talk about thralls, please keep in mind that all followers are not the same as they were 2 years ago. They are all weaker and you are significantly stronger than what you remember based on your attributes. But if you like the thrall way, the attribute “Authority” is the one that perks your thralls. What you are specifically referring to is the level 20 authority perk called War party. You have to level yourself to get that perk and with it, you get the ability to have an additional follower.

Another big change most likely after you quit. Do not build large bases – you will get banned. While I’m ok with getting rid of server impacting structures, the problem is that it is easier than ever to farm large number of bombs and without large bases to offset them (nor any offline protection) expect to be offline raided repeatedly on Official PVP servers if you cannot watch your base every night…
Best I can tell is that there are lots of folks who just look for offline bases to raid in that they almost never raid when you are online but as soon as you take a night off, your base get wiped… I miss the good old days where we had actual “wars” fighting each other.
