This was when the new ToC came out in fall 2021
I think you have been around long enough to know the various talking points of this discussion.
Or have you paid attention? Maybe not, because your suggestion is instead to go to SP or encourage another private server.
Those are options. Not solutions.

Ah, this one did not recall that particular, apologies.
This one blames the high iron content in the years of frustration since.

Which goat? The details matter. There is one goat that drops a unique bow and it sits on top of a rock pillar next to one of the more popular spots just outside and above the Crevice. If you block that spawn I would say itâs justified even if the space is perfect for a base.

Fortunately but also unfortunately? Not that one, it was a highlands greenwall base.

Rent your own server.
Thatâs one option some people are failing to recognize.
It doesnât cost a fortune so donât give me a lame excuse about costs.
I rent a server myself and I paid for it a full year in advance.
Youâll pay more for a month worth of food than you pay to rent a server for a full year.
Whatâs better, would you rather take your chances on building crazy on officials, risking getting all your work destroyed because you violated the TOC or enjoy yourself for a change on your own rented server with your buddies?
Think about it.
I keep it private for myself and my partner and weâre building the shit out of the area until the server just happens to have a nervous breakdown. ⌠then reset it.
The only thing that bothers the hell out of me is when some â â â â â â â â (two of them at separate times), hacked the password of my server and got on it ⌠pretending as if they did nothing wrong. So I busted their â â â â â and changed the password each time after resetting the server. What really â â â â â â me off about it is losing all the work we had already put into it when those âunwanted and uninvitedâ guests showed up.
You can set your own rules. You can even set it where you can build any damned place you feel like building and build as big, grand and widespread as you can possibly desire until you cause your own rented server to bog down if thatâs what you want to do. Even better, you can invite all your cozy little friends to play with you on your server where YOU set the rules. (That is IF you have any friends). If nothing else, youâll damn sure find out WHO your friends really are. Believe me, true friends are extremely rare and vary hard to find , especially in games such as this.
So donât hand me that hogwash about the unpleasantries of âprivate serversâ.
If you get kicked out of one, thereâs usually a pretty damned good reason they kicked you off.
Rules are generalized and cover a wide range of offensive behaviors. Donât try pettifogging by asking for details on a specific offense thatâs already covered.
No.
No one has failed to recognize this. We all know we can. We donât have to.
Doesnât matter. No one should have to shell out more money on this game. I wonât, thanks.
You keep saying this but you donât understand the problems. Take some time to read the posts and discussions. Itâs not so simple as this. It seems like it is but it is not. Itâs very complex and many factors that cannot be boiled down to just âbreaking the rulesâ. I know MANY who have not and were still affected. Including me and my friends.
You keep dismissing what people may counter.
Well I will dismiss your opinion. Itâs crap, uninspired, misinformed, rude, inconsiderate and condescending.

Thatâs yours and a lot of other peopleâs problem.
Fine. Take your risks and suffer the consequences.
There is a reason things happen. You cannot dismiss that.
I will disregard your continued insensitivity to assumed affordability and income.
In regard to consequences, many donât even know what the reasons are.

Donât make the assumption that Iâm rich. I have to watch my budget too.
Oh come on.
People are supposed to be smarter than that.
Yes Funcoms workers are overworked due to mismanagement however the bloodsuckers are actually Tencent the Chinese company that now owns Funcom. Tencent does this to every development company they take over.

If you take this VERY precisely, then building anywhere is blocking. Because this part of the map will not be accessible to other players.
Define âother areasâ. So players will actually KNOW where itâs a no-go to build.
Prevent other playerâs access to resources. No doubt that this is griefing.
Prevent other playerâs access to building spots. Also griefing, but if you look at it this way:
Prevent other playerâs raid access to building spots. This is for PvP. You want to build raid defences in form of more building HP. You want to slow down raiders to give you more time to react. T4 thralls are not farmed in an hour (including breaking time). This is not Rust where a base of 10x10 is sufficient. Also consider the 5 hours raid time. All bases are offline raidable within 1 hour.
Define when something is âmassiveâ.
This is a funny one. First, the players need to know which âitemsâ are potentially memory intensive. Expecting new players to immediatly realise and understand this is just bad.
Both server and client side. When does the average non IT specialized person know when something is affecting server performance? They canât. Hence give them a warning when it happens with their buildings.
Client side is also funny. If I come play with my 10 year old hardware (PS4 for example) and get laggy, I am justified to report and make someone elses âworkâ get deleted by admins where it would do no harm on a modern system? Just silly and ridiculousâŚ
Guess why. Because Funcom allows them to be. And even rewards it.
I fail to see the answer to my 3 simple questions with your post.

No, it was just a simple âwhat would happen if âŚâ analysis.
And in this case more like: âWhat would happen if a new player âŚâ or âWhat would happen if a technically less affine player âŚâ
Just accept it. The rules are vague and can be interpreted at will. Posting them does not help anyone.

I donât think anyone here is falling to realize you can rent your own server. What you are not realizing is not everyone wants to spend more money to potentially play on a completely dead private server. People play offical servers because itâs lively and other than the tos there are no admins to please.

wtf is this shit? :)))))))) I come to read patch notes and do the mistake to click on General DiscussionsâŚ
So yeah⌠banning without a warning is not something new and it is normal for the exploiter not to see it coming. Reading your post made me feel how âexploitedâ i have felt playing on Official servers. Donât get me wrong, feeling exploited not by âexploitersâ but Funcom itself with a âhalf workingâ game. You come home after a hard day of work and want to enjoy playing a game, but the game does not let you have itâŚ
I believe what you wrote in your post in regards to where you have been building but also, are you 100% sure that all official servers you play on are, the bases there are âlegitâ? It is so hard to comprehend how someone can be banned so easily for âbuildingâ while exploiters/cheaters roam free still.
What i still cannot believe isâŚThe guy says what happens to him and explain the situationâŚSTILL
the first thing he gets is ârules linkâ with still no official response probably(none other then a automated reply)âŚpffff. Give the guy some credit and stop defending incompetent people(in the case the dude was falsely banned).
Same guys over and over and over again show up to always disagree when someone complains. Quick question for you guys⌠âNo building areasâ why do those even exist if the guy gets banned is building where you are A L L O W E D!
@ Vahlok FYI Official servers were always more populated and stable as population then private servers⌠so pls piss off with your poor logic.
(Yeah, first post after last banâŚprobably ill get it again) Good riddance Funcom
You Suck.

This goes to me i guess
!
Allow me to have a different opinion and continue posting them
.
Ofcurce they help, they still need improvement, but they do help a lot!
With these rules we started having a way less chaotic situation on official servers!
If you really want to know why @CodeMage was right for the extended conversation about villages i can now explain.
Just before i will say this.
Some of you are professionals to this job so you can see things before they happen. For us the gamers, âwe have to play firstâ!
So when 3.0 arrived, you must be well informed that ps4 was unplayable. If someone had a late game base, it was impossible not to crash in it every some minutes only!
THE ONLY WORKAROUND, i find to avoid constant crashing was to create a small village. For a reason i cannot explain, i wasnât crashing at all in my little village even in official servers.
Every single cabin had just a couple working benches and just a couple chests, i had a few small freezings but never crash.
So itâs obvious to me that villages are âlighterâ but i can see the problem villages create too, which is bigger land claim!
Simple as that, think of the example of a public room full of chairs, a turist ship for example.
I feel tired and i occupy four chairs instead of one i have to have leading to the result that some people wonât find a chair to sit down.
ITâS EXACTLY THE SAME! Have no doubt about it. People should carry principles in their gaming hours especially in FREE servers for ALL.
ConclusionâŚ
I donât care how many thousands hours someone has in this game!
I donât care how cleaar the rules are or not!
Public servers DEMANDS public manors!
So if any exile cannot understand this SIMPLE thing, BAN! Accept it and move on!
You kind of always skirt around this discussion in this way and I am curious to know why. I have not lied about my experiences albeit they are anecdotes.
So what about me? What about my clan? What about 2 of my clan members that were perma banned without justification or explanation?
OP does not gain from people who dismiss them. I know YOU have been paying attention. Please do not disregard our experiences - many of us did everything we were supposed to.
