Paid items being nerfed

It’s software, in general, but games might be the worst in that aspect.

Some have drunk the Kool Aid, as can be seen on this thread. Others rationalize it by saying “everyone does it”, or “it’s just business”, or “that’s just the way it is”. And then there’s those of us who don’t defend it, but know that it’s not going to change.

I mean, what do you propose doing about it? Restrict capitalism? Are you some kind of a commie?

Maybe I’m just old fashioned, and just prefer games were finished properly, before release.

Or maybe I’m just old, period.

I’m old enough to remember when games were finished before release. I liked that, for the most part. There were, however, some occasional problems with that, too

Pros and cons, really. I much prefer having a properly finished game, developed and published by people who understand what both “Q” and “A” mean in “QA”. But I also like having games that can and do improve over time.

Conan Exiles used to be a game developed by people who were trying their best to improve it over time, and they used to be relatively successful at that, despite all the kvetching and abuse hurled at them on these forums.

But even that was some time ago. The game is not dead, by any definition, but it’s definitely in the “let’s see how much profit we can squeeze out of this thing before we put it out of its misery” phase of the lifecycle that comes hand-in-hand with the ability to improve over time.

The price we pay for a game in ongoing development is that sooner or later it gets too old to make that ongoing development properly profitable.

So they found an excuse to circumvent the law :theworst:

Because indeed, at least in Europe, putting an item “on sale” when it has never been available at its “full price” is illegal, to put it simply.

Anyone that believes this is free to file a complaint with their local regulatory body.

Thusfar no one has actually believed it enough to try. So lets stop beating around the bush. Either make the complaint or sit down and drop the issue. Stop with the empty nonsense or get a pair and make the complaint.

No. Storage box holding the same number of items but taking 2 or 3 times more place is not “the same”. It’s 2 or 3 times worse than vanilla one.

I mean the EU Price indication directive would say differently.

Across the UK and most of the EU you need to have an item sold at regular price for x amount of days before a discount is listed, but there are many layers here which make it complicated, the fact it is a token coin, not an actual currency coin (though any crypto regulations might apply to that but I am not versed on those at all) is funcom a company or subsidiarity of tencent and china based now.

but even if it were to be found legal through its various complicated nature, I think this looks past the argument of is it respectful and honest to their customer base.

You don’t understand what “cosmetic” means do you? Has 0 to do with size or capacity.

If it’s the same it is a reskin. The cabinet isn’t a reskin it’s a new Item. Cosmetically it looks very different but what it does is the same.

200 slots would be pay to win if there’s no free alternative…
You want your money back… here have 10 cents lmao
