Patch 2.0.0 Discussion Megathread

Glad to see people finally publicizing this bug-ridden nonsense.

Missing Hairs coming back? I really like Short Hair Style..

search engine is just not bring up a good answer.. so many topics have nothing to do with it.
Figure I’d ask out right instead of going insane…

I don’t think the new dungeon they’ve released is all that difficult. Even the final boss stands still for five seconds or more, giving you a chance to attack. And if the second part is worse than this one—much harder—what are they going to do? Remember, this is only the first part. Admittedly, there are bugs, but that’s no excuse for lowering the new dungeon’s difficulty. I play on PlayStation, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new content—the challenge—yet. Please, Funcom, don’t lower the difficulty. @Dana

I don’t want special treatment.:smiling_face_with_tear:

When my turn to fight comes, I want to use my full combat arsenal in that dungeon. I don’t want a boss made of paper.:face_holding_back_tears:

I agree that the reward isn’t good. For me, legendary weapons are worthless, since I have better ancient weapons.

Find a short pier and take a long walk. Tired of the anti console rhetoric as if we’re inferior players.

That’s a lot of projection for so few words. lol

Hello!? is this normal? help.

Events - like Portal to Yuggoth - seem to be working quite well again. Played several hours, found several events, while they were extremely rare before the UE5 upgrade.

They lack any apparent reward (except the XP for killing the enemies), but at least they spawn at a noticeable rate again. Nice!

Context: Exiled Lands, single player, lots of mods.

these gen-AI thumbnails, flyers, and posters all look the same: soulless, tacky, and visually noisy

Who cares about the thumbnail, what he says is important

What he says is soulless, tacky and noisy, too, though.

He complains about supposedly unsusual practices of Funcom, for which he gives as an example firing people after a sucessful launch. No shit, sherlock, that’s a usual business practice. One doesn’t have to like that, but it’s a really bad point for singling out Funcom.

He claims that the UE5 version has “all the same bugs” as UE4 and that thereby the game wasn’t “enhanced”. That just isn’t true. Lots of bugs were fixed. Not all of them. But the marketing doesn’t say “Conan Exiles: Perfected”, but “Conan Exiles: Enhanced”.

He says the graphic improvements were done by Inflexion, not by Funcom, and therefore Funcom didn’t improve the game, but Inflexion, why - if I infer the meaning of his ramblings correctly - the label “enhanced” is wrong. What is he even trying to say here? That’s just illogical reasoning.

Oh, and we don’t have to agree with him, because he doesn’t care about other people’s opinion, but everybody who doesn’t agree with his points is “stupid”.

What a constructive, insightful contribution to the discussion. If one asked an LLM to write a “complain about Funcom” rant, it might end up remarkably similar. The content, sadly is just as bad as the thumbnail.

At this point it‘s honestly fascinating how many people still defend this company, after so many screwups.

You also ignored the point that we could repair legendaries, before they took legendary repair kits away… now we got a new dungeon that completeley isn’t worth it to repair them.

Is to take something away, only to implement it again in a much less effective but much more time consumig way, really considered new and exciting content?!

And the game is just as buggy as UE4 was. Or all these bug reports on the forum not justified?

But some people don’t have anything better to do than to wait i guess.

I was patient enough to wait years for funcom to fix their broken mess. And it’s still a broken mess… but now it’s “enhanced”.

Keep waiting and defending them, but that’s exactly what leads to such a behavior from companys.

If people are too spineless to push back they will do whatever they want. But could be to late anyways because this community is too devided already.

If someone needs a lot of mods to make the enhanced experience enjoyable, i think it’s fair to say there is something wrong with the foundation.

And no wonder single player care little about the problems many other people have, as long as it doesn’t affect themselves who cares, right?

However, enjoy your enhanced experience until the next “update” hits.

If you go through my post history, you’ll see that I’m quite critical of Funcom, especially the production quality and bazaar pricing.
I just don’t think that blank or untrue criticism as by the video poster - and frankly, you - helps in any way. Same goes for personal attacks on individual employees or teams within Funcom (or Inflexion), which is shooting into the dark.

I’ll not discuss the individual points with you. There’s no need for us on agreeing on them.

If only there were a list of legacy bugs from the pre-enhanced version… wait a minute… actually, you just have to look at the current list of legacy bugs, and it’s exactly the same.

Plus, new ones have been added since, as they say here, the “spaghetti code” was just copied over to the new engine.

Or, you could actually look at the lists and would discover that they are not, in fact, the same. The Legacy lists are so long they require two separate threads. The Enhanced list is in a single thread - that alone should be a hint.
There are plenty of bugs that have made it across, but there are also a great many bugs that have been fixed.

Maybe these are more technical in nature, but when I play, I keep running into the same annoying issues—and I’ve been doing so for years.
Actually, a lot of them were already in the game when I first started playing it.

Conan Exiles feedback

Oh, there defnitely are some bugs that have been around long-term, no question of that. But Inflexion really have done a pretty good job of fixing a lot of bugs in a relatively short space of time. It all sort of depends which ones are your priority (for instance, I know you’re particularly frustrated by the mounted weapons, which hasn’t been fixed for a while) - and, of course, some old bugs keep coming back.

ok

Yeah, I know, I’m just upset that my favorite game is basically getting worse technically.
Yes, the new graphics are a step forward, and the switch to UE5 has clearly helped a lot (smaller client, better load times).
But then you start playing, and every day you’re annoyed by bugs that have been reported 100 times and have been in the game for years.
I think I’ll take a break for a while to get some distance and be more objective.
